Want to be a Member?
Several folks have asked recently about joining the congregation.

Membership does have its privileges, as they say. In particular, members get to vote on things such as who serves on session. Members can hold office. Members have a say in the budget.

So, if you are interested in exploring membership at CPC, please send me a note.
Gracias! & Help ...
Thanks to Jeannette Regetz for hosting coffee hour Sunday.

We look forward to the culinary arts and hospitality of James Fisher this Sunday morning.

Many of you signed up to host coffee hour this fall, and the schedule is available as part of the church calendar on line. The week e-blast will also include a reminder.

Session Looking at Irving St. Property

At its October meeting last week, CPC's session directed a four-person team to look into the possibilities of purchasing the house on Irving St. that sits between the church parking lot and our playground. We learned earlier this month that the homeowner is looking to sell the property. The congregation attempted to purchase the house many years ago, but was not able to negotiate successfully with that owner.

Elders Karen Kimmel and Reg Mitchell, along with Tom Hull and Hal Logsdon are investigating both the condition of the property and the finances of a possible purchase.
crossPrayer Concerns

Several particular concerns are on our hearts and minds this week:

Please hold Alta Mercer in the light as she recovers from heart surgery. She is in good spirits, but considerable discomfort, at INOVA Fairfax.

Please hold Jonathan Broome in the light as he recovers from significant injuries sustained in a bike accident.

Don Hodgen asks prayers for his sisters Pattie (Owens) who is donating a kidney to Kitty (Earle).

Saving graces

"Prayer is not asking. It is a longing of the soul.
It is daily admission of one's weakness. It is better in prayer to have a heart without words than words without a heart."

~ Mahatma Gandhi
