Greetings!

cross
Inch by inch and row by row
we're gonna make this garden grow
all I need is a rake and a hoe
and a piece of fertile ground ...

I was singing the Garden Song this afternoon as I spent a couple of hours of this beautiful day pulling weeds along the Irving Street side of church and the parking lot. The child care center kids helped scoop up weeds and compost them -- and turn them into "soup" and "salad" on the playground.

Alas, the kids and I ran out of energy before we ran out of weeds -- both in piles and still in the ground. So, we need someone to come by with a yard waste bag or two to scoop up the rest of the piles.

We are keeping our own fertile ground at church this summer, and also need some help pulling more weeds. Come by any time and spend a half hour or so sprucing up the grounds. It is much appreciated, and makes the place look so much more cared for.

I'm off to General Assembly for the next week. Please hold the church in the light as we work to open its doors just a bit wider and make its witness for peace a bit bolder.

peace,

David
