Thanks
A huge thanks go to Carol Deford, Karen Kimmel, Cheryl Lederle, Dave Norman, Marty Rosensweig, and Marc Scarcella for moving tons of snow this week.
Pledge Drive
As of two weeks ago we have received pledges totaling $61,866 on or way to the goal of $97,500. Please prayerfully consider making your pledge now. Pledging is both a spiritual practice for the giver and a huge help for session as we plan the 2010 budget.
Thanks again to all of you who have already made your pledge for 2010.
Special Christmas Edition
This Week @ CPC

Progressive ... Inclusive ... Diverse
December 2009
Greetings!

Merry Christmas! metro

A light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never overcome it.

Come, gather in that light, and worship!

We'll worship tomorrow evening at 7:00, and share the lessons and carols of the season. We'll fill the sanctuary with candlelight, and then carry the light of God's love into the world.

Sunday, we'll worship at our regular 10:00 a.m., and mark the first Sunday of Christmastide with a relaxed service. The text for that day is Luke 2:41-52, and the meditation is "How Quickly They Grow Up."

We've dug out from all the snow, but getting around is still a bit difficult. We hope to have the ramp entrance off the parking lot open tomorrow evening. The Jackson Street entrances are clear, and the glass door off the parking lot is also clear.

Grace and peace,

David

Christmas Eve Giving for AFAC metro

We will receive an offering tomorrow evening to support the Arlington Food Assistance Center. We have a long relationship with AFAC, and support them with time and food throughout the year. We'll add some money to our support tomorrow, as we continue to feed the hungry of Arlington.

We will receive the Christmas Joy offering during Sunday worship the next two Sunday. This offering supports retired church professionals who are in financial need.
