| FROM THE MIDDLE SCHOOL HEAD | |
Dear Middle School Parents,
If you have seen me around campus lately, then you are probably aware that I am soon expecting the arrival of a new baby! At this time I want to let you know what the plans are for my maternity leave. I will be finishing this first semester here at school and will then be on leave until April 5 when school resumes after spring break. In my absence, my Spanish classes will be taught by Ms. Heinemann, who has many years of experience as a Spanish teacher. Mr. Hemingway will lead the Middle School students and teachers and will coordinate and organize all Middle School daily events. As always, your child's advisor is your first point of contact here at school, but you may email Mr. Hemingway as well with any general questions or concerns. Mrs. Boyd, Head of the Upper School, will assume all the other responsibilities of an administrator. You may contact Mrs. Boyd with any more serious questions or concerns.
I am confident that Ms. Heinemann, Mr. Hemingway, and Mrs. Boyd will work hard to meet all of your needs while I am away from school. I will be checking in with them on a regular basis to make sure that all goes smoothly.
I wish you and your family a very happy and healthy holiday season and thank you for all of your words of kindness and encouragement for a new parent! I feel as though I have had 75+ children for the past ten years as a teacher, but certainly welcome any advice and tips as a soon-to-be mom of an infant!
Kind regards,
Gretchen Batalis
