| COFFEE WITH THE HEAD | |
Dr. Shirley will be having a Coffee with the Head on Wednesday, December 8th at 8:00am in the Cafe. He will be discussing the upcoming months and the plans for the school as well as the plans for next year, and he will be discussing college admissions. |
| SUNDEVIL OF THE WEEK | |
Deb Frasier was named Upper School Sun Devil of the week for being excellent student who has an overall A average and is in all honor and AP classes. She has tons of community service hours (way more than she needs). She plays several sports, and is a good team player. She is modest, always smiling, but very serious about her academics. Congratulations Deb!!
Arturo Mata was named Middle School Sun Devil of the Week by a student for being well mannered, having a positive attitude, and saying very nice things to Mrs. Shears. Well done Arturo!!
Lower School Sun Devil of the Week is Dacey Presnell in Kindergarten. She was nominated for being an outstanding helper and awesome friend!
  
Mr. Lenahan was named Faculty Sun Devil of the Week for
being someone that both students and faculty can turn to for guidance. Way to go Mr. Lenahan!!

| FROM THE MIDDLE AND UPPER SCHOOL DIVISION HEADS | |
The end of the first semester and midterm exams are quickly approaching! Middle and Upper School students will have revised schedules for exams Monday-Wednesday, December 13-15. Please see the attached documents for exam schedules and further information. If you have any additional questions, please contact Gretchen Batalis, Head of the Middle School or Liz Boyd, Head of the Upper School.
Optional field trips/social events have been organized for Middle School students to participate in following the exams next week, Monday December 13- Wednesday, December 15. These field trips will take place from 1:00- 3:00. Please see the attached information for details and return permission slips and payments no later than Tuesday, December 7 if your child will be participating. | BLUE GOLD COMPETITION | |
Blue/Gold Competition!
In the spirit of giving, the Middle School Student Government is collecting gently used, board games and electronic games for Middle School students in need from other schools around the area. Please bring in any games that are age appropriate and in good, working condition for donations. You may drop them off to your teacher/advisor between December 1st and the 10th. Please be sure to indicate if you are on the BLUE team or the GOLD team. The team with the most donations will earn 50 points! |
| DECEMBER MUSIC CONCERT | |
The Music and Art Departments are pleased to announce that our Winter Concert and Art Show will take place on Thursday, December 9th at 6:30 in the gym. Several musical groups will be featured during the evening as well as a student art show.
Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and Grades 1-3 will be presenting a short musical entitled "December Around the World". The songs feature music from countries around the globe and highlight many winter celebrations. "Jingle Bell Jukebox" will showcase the talents of our 4th and 5th Grade students. They will sing a variety of favorite holiday hit songs. The evening will also feature selections from our talented Middle School and High School Glee Club.
The art show will be comprised of works created by students during the first semester classes of this year. All grades, from pre-school through upper school, will be represented.
Please join us in a celebration of the talent of all our wonderful students. |

| GINGERBREAD HOUSE | |
Gingerbread House This Week!
This week, children in grades Pre-K through 8 will have an opportunity to attend the Gingerbread House. The schedule is as follows:
Wednesday: K-Haynie, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th
Thursday: Pre-K, K-Rogers, 1st and 2nd
Friday morning: Make-ups and revisits
Lower School and Intermediate Middle School students have structured times to attend. 7th and 8th grades are invited before and after school, or during their break at 9:25.
Please remember to send lists and money in to school! Gifts will be wrapped, labeled and packaged for your child to bring home. Each item costs $5 or less.
We are looking forward to seeing your children's smiling faces coming through.

On December 13, 2010 at 6:30pm therapist Tara Mills will be holding a FREE parenting workshop at the Fort Dorchester High School Auditorium. During this hour Tara Mills will teach you how to detect if your child is using drugs and the key to successfully talking to kids about drugs.
