REPORT CARDS

In order to save trees and money and to get your child's grades to you more quickly and efficiently, CCS is now providing progress reports and report cards electronically through the aCCeSs system.  Delivering the progress reports and report cards electronically makes both economic and environmental sense, and we hope you will support the school in this change.   The end-of-the-year report card will be mailed home in a hard copy format.

You should have received your aCCeSs login and password at the start of the school year.  At this time we have reached the end of the first quarter and urge your child's report card will be published to aCCeSs Wednesday afternoon.

As a reminder, you can find a link to aCCeSs at the bottom of the CCS homepage  www.charlestoncollegiate.org.  In order to check your son or daughter's report card, log in and follow the following steps:

  1. Find the heading "Students" at the top of the page.
  2. Select "Report Cards."
  3. Also on the left, please be sure to select the correct "Marking Column (Quarter 1).

You can also view homework assignments and daily grades on a daily basis.  To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Again find the heading "Students" at the top of the page.
  2. Select "Assignments" or  "Averages"or "Daily grades".
  3. On the left you can select to view the assignments in a list format or a calendar format.  The dates listed are the date that the assignment is due.
  4. On the left you can also select each class individually or all classes.
  5. On the top right select "Expand All" to view each assignment.

As always, if you have questions about an individual class you may contact your child's advisor or the teacher directly through email.  We hope that you find aCCeSs to be an informative tool for your regular use.  Please explore this site and contact your Division Head or Jean Pendleton, Director of Technology if you need further assistance.

Sincerely,

RACE FOR THE CURE

Last Chance for a pink SWAT t-shirt!

The Race for the Cure was this past weekend and was a HUGE success.  Due to interest from middle school students and several parents, there is one last chance to get a SWAT t-shirt!  The shirts only come in adult sizes and cost $8.  All the money raised will go to the Race for the Cure SWAT team (we can raise money until Jan.) and that money then goes to Susan G. Komen foundation for breast cancer research.  There will be one more "pink" day before the end of October so middle school can wear their shirts then if they purchase one.  Parents need to contact Molly Olson molson@charlestoncollegiate.org to place their order.  Mrs. Olson needs to know the size by this Friday (22nd) and then needs the money by that next Wed. (27th).....thanks!

FALL CARNIVAL
Our annual Fall Carnival is on Friday, October 29th from 11:30-3:00.  This is a fun day with hayrides, jump castles, lots of game booths, dunking booth, great food and much more!

This event is for the Lower and Middle school children (although we even see some of the high school students enjoying themselves.) Please feel free to invite your family and friends who might enjoy the day with you and your child.  We need lots of volunteers to help with this event.  We schedule shifts in 30 minute increments so you can have play time with your child(ren) and also socialize with other parents.  This is a great day to get to know some of our newer families and mingle.  If you are interested in helping with this event or have any questions, please contact Tiffany Frank at tfrank@charlestoncollegiate.org.  We will have fliers coming home with your children on Wednesday, October 13th and 20th with all of the details.  Hope to see you there!

GINGERBREAD HOUSE
Gingerbread House Requests

During the week of December sixth, the little green trailer on campus, turns into a holiday boutique for the lower school students. They will come with their class to do their secret shopping for family and friends. We are asking parents that if during their fall cleaning, they consider donating new or nearly new items to this endeavor. Currently, we are in need of gifts for dads, grandpas and older brothers, but any resalable merchandise will be appreciated. Nothing will be priced over $5, and also, consider that items need to take up just a little bit of table space, so no over-sized items please. You may drop donations in the front lobby, and label them "Gingerbread House."
There are also opportunities for parents to get involved during that week, by volunteering their time to a myriad of elfly duties. If you're interested in joining in, please contact Lois Daughtridge at 708-8972, or email: loisdaughtridge@me.com.

TEAM SHOP
The Charleston Collegiate Team Shop is now open. Please look in the "Latest News" section of the school's website and click on the "Check out the CCS Team Shop" link. Please support our athletic department by selecting, decorating, and purchasing  any of the listed items. The Team Shop will close on September 30 to allow for processing all orders placed by the deadline. Once all orders are processed, the Team Shop will reopen.

Please contact the Athletic Director, Jay Godbolt at 559-5506 x 225 if you have questions.
Have a great week,
