Hi Lower School Parents and Guardians,

The year is off to a great start. It is wonderful to see all of your children learning in the classrooms and smiling all around the campus.  What a happy group we have this year-not a single tear on the first day of morning drop-off! I hope you are all getting settled into the school routine as well. Please email me or call if you have any questions or concerns.

FROM THE BOOSTER CLUB
The Sun Devils Booster Club would like to take this opportunity to welcome all new and returning families! As we kick off the 2010-11 school year, and we invite all parents to participate in the Sun Devils Booster Club.  The Booster Club can only be successful with the help of our family volunteers.  We look forward to sharing that "Sun Devil Spirit" with you!
The Booster Club has two outstanding fundraisers; the athletic season pass and the athletic banner sponsorship.  Our athletic pass offers families a huge discount to our home games.  On average for a family of two you can save a minimum of $300 per year based on two adult admissions to Football, Basketball and Volleyball.  The funds generated from these fundraisers go directly into our athletic program.  In addition to the athletic season pass, our athletic banner sponsorship is a wonderful way to show your support of our athletic program, while advertising your company.  We have set a goal for fifteen (15) new banners to be placed on our football field before the season opener. Please help us meet this goal by purchasing a banner today.
We are looking for parent volunteers to help at all of our sporting events.  If someone from the Booster Club has not contacted you, please give us a call to volunteer your time. The Booster Club is a wonderful way to not only support our teams, but to build friendships amongst our families.
Thank you in advance for volunteering and we look forward to seeing you at the SUN DEVIL KICKOFF!!!
FROM THE PARENT'S ASSOCIATION

LOST & FOUND BIN
All students and parents should check the Lost & Found in the rear of the café weekly. The Lost & Found bin will be emptied every two weeks. FROM THE TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT
CALLING ALL LAPTOPS! CCS offers several courses that require the students to have laptop computers and not all of our families have a laptop to spare. If you have a laptop that you no longer need, our students will put it to good use! And you can receive a tax deduction for the value of it. Please contact Austin Starowicz as astarowicz@charlestoncollegiate.org if you have one to donate. Thank you!
WEEKLY ICE CREAM SALES
CCS is selling ice cream again during lunch times.  We will be selling ice cream sandwiches, fudge bars, ice cream bars and orange creamcicles.  The price for ice cream is 50 cents.  The money made from ice cream sales goes towards the café supplies such as napkins, cups and all utensils.  If you have any questions, please contact Tiffany Frank at tfrank@charlestoncollegiate.org.  Thank you!
LOCKS OF LOVE
Locks of Love - Join us in giving!

Over a million children in the U.S. suffer from medical conditions that cause hair loss.  You are invited to help!  Mrs. Williams and Ms. Murphy plan to grow their hair to donate this winter and would love for CCS teachers, students, and parents to join in giving a gift to Locks of Love!
Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada suffering from long-term medical hair loss.  Most of the children helped by Locks of Love have lost their hair due to a medical condition called alopecia areata, which has no known cause or cure. Your gift can help restore self-esteem and confidence for these special children.
Please see the Locks of Love website, www.locksoflove.org, for more information on this charity's mission, how to give, and requirements for hair donation.  Questions? Email kwilliams@charlestoncollegiate.org.
Have a great week,
