SPOTLIGHT . . . ON COLLEGE ADMISSIONS It's spring, and our seniors' attention is focused on college admissions. We're
happy to report that 96% of our seniors have been accepted to college (while one
senior is still in process) and 88% have, so far, been accepted
to their firstchoice. This year's college admission highlights include Wake Forest University (NC), Smith College (MA), Emerson College (MA), The University of the South (TN),
and Duquesne University(PA).
The first priority of the CCS college guidance
process is to identify a good "fit" for our students based upon academic and
career interest, geographic preference, and family considerations. In recent
years, we have encouraged our students to search beyond the known and explore
schools, programs, or locations they may not previously have considered. We've
supported our students with a more focused college exploration process,
augmented by a part-time advisor assigned to this role, and parents have been
urged to become more active participants in determining their student's
choices. This year's parent College Night marked record
attendance.
We congratulate all of our seniors as well as our faculty and advisors for their role in
helping our students reach this important
milestone. To learn more about the college admission process at CCS, please visit the College Counseling page on our website.
