This Week at St. Paul's
Our Day of Change collection last Sunday raised a total of $386.87.  The funds raised will be split between the Eastern Erie Deanery Friendship Partnership, and Episcopal Relief & Development's Tornado Relief efforts in the Midwest.  Thank you to everyone for your generosity!
Tornado Relief
Pastor Vicki has been in touch with clergy and churches in the dioceses affected by the recent tornadoes, and has confirmed that what they need most at this time are monetary donations.  They are lacking in adequate storage to handle donations of goods, and cash can be quickly utilized by relief organizations to meet various needs as they arise.  There are two ways to donate:
  • Donations to the American Red Cross can be made by going to this page, and clicking on "Donate Now".
  • Donations to Episcopal Relief and Development can by made by going to this page, and clicking on "Donate Now".
Lenten Study

It is traditional for congregations to offer additional worship and study opportunities during Lent.  At St. Paul's this year we are offering an opportunity to pray and an opportunity to study.

We are using the book A Time to Turn by Christopher Webber.  The book is a series of pieces by Anglicans throughout history on a variety of topics.  Each week we are looking at one of the pieces, exploring what it means and what God is saying to us.  You don't need to purchase the book to participate - but there is much more in the book than we will cover in class.

We are offering the class three time each week - you can come to any of them.

  •  Sunday Morning from 9:15 - 9:45 in the Parish Hall on March 11, 18 & 25
  •  Wednesday evening from 6:15 - 6:45 in the library on March 14, 21 & 28
  •  Thursday afternoon from 1:00-1:30 in the library, bring a bag lunch if you like, on March 8, 15, 22 and 29

A brief reflection will also be posted on the St. Paul's Facebook page each week.

We are also offering two resources for personal use:

  •  From Ashes to Hope is a booklet of reflections and prayers for adults.
  •  Pastor Vicki has written a booklet of reflections and prayers for families to use together.

Both of these pamphlets can be found on the poster in the parish hall.

Lent Craft and Chat - NOW ONGOING!

If you are looking for a Lenten project, but theological reflection isn't your cup of tea, try the Craft and Chat group.  Bring your own stitching/knitting/crafting project or we will teach you an easy project to benefit children in the Buffalo community.  Come and join us.  Thursdays from 6:30 - 8 p.m. in the library.  We will meet during Lent and then decide what we want to do.

Youth Maundy Thursday Overnight - April 5-6

The Youth of St. Paul's will have an overnight event from the end of the Maundy Thursday service until 8 a.m. on Good Friday.  It will be an evening of prayer, fellowship, fun and faith.  The overnight is open to all youth grades 6 - 12 and their friends.  Permission slips are on the youth bulletin boards.

Easter Egg Hunt - April 7

St. Paul's on Facebook
Facebook clip artAfter some discussion, the parish office has decided that a Facebook "page"  better suits our purposes than our former group, so we have created one.  Just go HERE, and click "like", and you're all set!  Anything we post will begin showing up in your news feed.
