This Week at St. Paul's
This coming Sunday is a Day of Change! As we set our clocks ahead the night before, we bring our change to church the next morning, and use it to make a difference.

Our Spring collection will support two causes.  Half will benefit the Eastern Erie Deanery Friendship partnership, and the other half will be sent to Episcopal Relief and Development, to support the relief efforts in those areas hit by last week's tornadoes. (Please note that this is a change from what was announced last Sunday - in response to the developing situation in the Midwest.)

So bring your change to church on Sunday, and help us effect change in the world around us.  And remember - $20 is change for $100.
Tornado Relief
Pastor Vicki has been in touch with clergy and churches in the dioceses affected by last week's tornadoes, and has confirmed that what they need most at this time are monetary donations.  They are lacking in adequate storage to handle donations of goods, and cash can be quickly utilized by relief organizations to meet various needs as they arise.  There are two ways to donate:
  • Donations to the American Red Cross can be made by going to this page, and clicking on "Donate Now".
  • Donations to Episcopal Relief and Development can by made by going to this page, and clicking on "Donate Now".
20s/30s Outing: Brazilian Steakhouse - THIS SATURDAY!!

The 20s & 30s group is going on a dinner outing to Copacabana Brazilian Steakhouse in Niagara Falls, Ontario, on Saturday, March 10.  The cost will be approximately $45, plus drinks and tip.  Our reservation is for 6pm, but we will coordinate to leave from church ahead of time and carpool.  Questions?  Talk to Aaron & Kate Macke.

Why Stop at One Turkey Dinner a Year? - THIS SUNDAY!
yarn

The Youth Group will hold a Turkey Dinner Fundraiser on Sunday, March 11, from 5-6:30 p.m.  Spend time with family and friends while eating delectable dishes like turkey, mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce.

The cost is $10 per dinner, payable at the door, and proceeds benefit the Youth Group's planned mission trip to Elyria, OH this summer.

Come, tell a friend, and bring two with you!

Lenten Study

It is traditional for congregations to offer additional worship and study opportunities during Lent.  At St. Paul's this year we are offering an opportunity to pray and an opportunity to study.

We are using the book A Time to Turn by Christopher Webber.  The book is a series of pieces by Anglicans throughout history on a variety of topics.  Each week we are looking at one of the pieces, exploring what it means and what God is saying to us.  You don't need to purchase the book to participate - but there is much more in the book than we will cover in class.

We are offering the class three time each week - you can come to any of them.

  •  Sunday Morning from 9:15 - 9:45 in the Parish Hall on March 11, 18 & 25
  •  Wednesday evening from 6:15 - 6:45 in the library on March 14, 21 & 28
  •  Thursday afternoon from 1:00-1:30 in the library, bring a bag lunch if you like, on March 8, 15, 22 and 29

A brief reflection will also be posted on the St. Paul's Facebook page each week.

We are also offering two resources for personal use:

  •  From Ashes to Hope is a booklet of reflections and prayers for adults.
  •  Pastor Vicki has written a booklet of reflections and prayers for families to use together.

Both of these pamphlets can be found on the poster in the parish hall.

Lent Craft and Chat - NOW ONGOING!

If you are looking for a Lenten project, but theological reflection isn't your cup of tea, try the Craft and Chat group.  Bring your own stitching/knitting/crafting project or we will teach you an easy project to benefit children in the Buffalo community.  Come and join us.  Thursdays from 6:30 - 8 p.m. in the library.  We will meet during Lent and then decide what we want to do.

St. Paul's on Facebook
Facebook clip artAfter some discussion, the parish office has decided that a Facebook "page"  better suits our purposes than our former group, so we have created one.  Just go HERE, and click "like", and you're all set!  Anything we post will begin showing up in your news feed.
