Hearts and Hands
St. Paul's is a member of the Hearts and Hands Faith in Action network - an organization that matches volunteers with elderly folks who need help to remain independent in their homes and community.   This Sunday, Hearts and Hands is asking us to give them a Valentine donation!  Several of our parishioners are either volunteering or receiving services - please consider sharing your love with a donation using the envelope in this week's bulletin!
Shrove Tuesday/Ash Wednesday

Lent begins on Wednesday February 22.

It has long been tradition to, on the day before Lent begins, eat pancakes.  It began as a way to use up all of the fats in the household, which could not be consumed during Lent.

We continue the tradition by having a pancake

supper on "Shrove" Tuesday - this year the pancake supper will be February 21 from 5 to 7 p.m.  Everyone is welcome.

Ash Wednesday services will be at noon and 7 p.m. on the 22nd.

Coming in Lent!

It is traditional for congregations to offer additional worship and study opportunities during Lent.  At St. Paul's this year we will offer an opportunity to pray and an opportunity to study.

We will be using the book A Time to Turn by Christopher Webber.  The book is a serious of pieces by Anglicans throughout history on a variety of topics.  Each week we will look at one of the pieces, explore what it means and what God is saying to us.  You don't need to purchase the book to participate - but there is much more in the book then we will cover in class.

We will offer the class three time each week - you can come to any of them.

  •  Sunday Morning from 9:15 - 9:45 in the Parish Hall on February 26, March 4, 11, 18 & 25
  •  Wednesday evening from 6:15 - 6:45 in the library on February 29, March 7, 14, 21 & 28
  •  Thursday afternoon from 1:00-1:30 in the library, bring a bag lunch is you like, on March 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29

A brief reflection will also be posted on the St. Paul's Facebook page each week.

We are also offering two resources for personal use:

  •  From Ashes to Hope is a booklet of reflections and prayers for adults.
  •  Pastor Vicki has written a booklet of reflections and prayers for families to use together.

Both of these pamphlets can be found on the poster in the parish hall.

Clarence Habitat House Dedication - February 19
The Clarence-built house at 95 Fox Street in Buffalo is almost complete. A dedication date has been set. The big event will take place on Sunday, February 19, at 2 pm at the house. YOU ARE ALL INVITED! Come see the house that Clarence built, meet the family and share in the joy of the day. Please help us spread the word of our job well done!
St. Paul's on Facebook
Facebook clip artAfter some discussion, the parish office has decided that a Facebook "page"  better suits our purposes than our former group, so we have created one.  Just go HERE, and click "like", and you're all set!  Anything we post will begin showing up in your news feed.
