This Week at St. Paul's

With just 2 weeks left in our

2011 Episcopal Community Services campaign,

we are now just $1000 away from our goal of $7,500.  PLEASE consider making a gift or pledge to ECS.

See Pastor Vicki for a pledge form.  Thank you!!

Our next Coffee Hour Snack Contest will take place after the 10:00 service this Sunday.  The theme is "Healthy Foods", and like all of the coffee hour contests, funds raised will benefit the Clarence-sponsored Habitat for Humanity House.
Spring Clean-Up Day - THIS SATURDAY!!

It's time to clean up the church  for Holy Week - and for the visit of our new Bishop.  We will gather at 9 a.m. Saturday April 16 and clean up the church inside and out - we will work until we are done or until 2 p.m. which ever comes first.  There is a sign up sheet in the parish hall with two lists - one for those who are able to come and help and one for thing that you've noticed that need to be done around the church.  This is a BYOB event - Bring your own bucket.  Help make our church shine for Holy Week.

We Need Your Input!

In planning for a vestry planning day in May, we are asking for congregational input.  Please stop in the parish hall during coffee hour and answer the following questions that you will find posted on the wall:

  • What are 3 things that are going well at St. Paul's?
  • What are 3 things that would improve the work of St. Paul's?

Your input is important to us - thanks for your help!

Easter Vigil - April 23

On Saturday, April 23rd, from 8 pm to 10 pm, you are invited to attend the Easter Vigil and reception at St. Paul's.   Last year the service was held at Calvary Episcopal Church in Williamsville.  This year we will be the host with members from Calvary Episcopal Church in Williamsville attending our service.   A reception in the library will follow the service.  Contributions of snacks for this reception would be appreciated and a sign up sheet will be posted in the parish hall.  If you would like to help with set up or clean up for this event, please see or call Ron Stefanski at 741-9942.

Easter Sunday Choir Breakfast

To acknowledge and show our appreciation for their service, on Easter Sunday, April 24th at 8:45 am we are having a brunch for members of our choir who will be singing at both the 8:00 am and the 10:00 am service.  A sign up sheet will be posted in the parish hall to give you the opportunity to contribute to this brunch.  Also, if you would like to help with set up or clean up for this event, please see or call Ron Stefanski at 741-9942.

Overnight Youth Lock-In - April 29
There will be an overnight youth lock-in on the eve of the bishop's consecration, at the new Diocesan Ministry Center (1064 Brighton Rd., Tonawanda).  This is a chance for middle and high schoolers to spend time with Bishop-elect Franklin, Bishop Michael, and our Presiding Bishop, the Most Rev. Dr. Katharine Jefferts Schori.  It will start at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 29, and conclude the next morning at 9:30 a.m.  The cost to participate is $5, payable on arrival at the event.  To register, visit www.eyouthwny.org, and click on the "Consecration Overnight" link.  Youth attending the lock-in and their parents will receive tickets to the consecration.  Questions?  Email pbresponsewny@gmail.com.  The deadline to register is April 15.  We hope to see you there!
Consecration Weekend
Friday, April 29 - Sunday, May 1 is Consecration weekend, and there are several events going on that you should be aware of.

The Youth Lock-In will take place on Friday night into Saturday morning.  See the article directly below this one for more details about that.

The ordination & consecration of R. William Franklin as the 11th Bishop of Western New York, will take place on Saturday, April 30 at 11 a.m. at the Center for the Arts on UB's North Campus.  Tickets are free, but you must request a ticket in advance.  Tickets will be distributed in early/mid April.

The next morning (Sunday, May 1), Bishop Franklin will be visiting us right here at St. Paul's for both of our regular Sunday morning services.

That same afternoon, all are invited to attend the new bishop's installation at the Cathedral downtown, at 4 p.m.  There is no need to pre-register for this event.

The office will be closed on Monday, May 2.
