There have been two deaths in the St. Paul's family:
- Elizabeth Wende entered into the nearer presence of God early Monday morning. The service will be this Friday (January 7) at noon at St. Paul's.
- Robert Hawkes entered into the nearer presence of God on Sunday. Jean has decided to have the interment and service in the spring. Notes can be sent to Jean at 50 Stahl Rd., Apt. 314E, Getzville, NY 14068

Furniture/Household items for Sale
| | As many of you may know, Phyllis Franks, longtime parishioner of St. Paul's, moved to California at Christmas to be closer to her son and his family. There will be a sale of her no longer needed furniture and household items this Friday & Saturday (January 7-8) at her former residence (528 George Urban Blvd. in Cheektowaga). The sale is expected to run from 9-4 both days. |

Eastern Erie/Central Erie Deanery Youth - this Saturday!
| The youth from the 11 churches in the Eastern and Central Erie deaneries are planning and leading the Martin Luther King Day service. The planning meeting is Saturday January 8 from 2 to 4 at St. Peter's church in Eggertsville. Pastor Vicki will be leaving from St. Paul's at 1:30 if anyone wants a ride to and from the meeting. The service will be Monday January 17 at 6 p.m. at St. Peter's. We will be collecting winter coats in January that will be blessed at the service. Please bring new or gently used coats to church.

Chili Cookoff - THIS SUNDAY!!
| The second annual St. Paul's Chili Cook-off will be Sunday January 9 after the 10 a.m. service. The winner will represent St. Paul's at the Clarence Winterfest on January 30 - sign up to compete in the parish hall. |

Small Plates resumes this week!
| | Small Plates resumes on Sunday January 9 we will be exploring the development of the church year and the spiritual focuses of the times. The class will be from 9:15 to 9:45 January 9, 16 and 23. |

20s/30s Group Murder Mystery Dinner - January 22
| Those of you who have expressed an interest in participating in the 20s/30s Group Murder Mystery Dinner, should expect an email invitation from Jason later this week. In it, you will find a link to go to a website and register for the dinner. Once you do so, you'll be assigned a character to play, and given more info about the dinner. So keep watching your email, and be sure to RSVP when your invite comes. |

Pork Roast Dinner & Feast of Lights - January 23!
| | Our Winter Potluck will take place on Sunday, January 23. Pork Roast, potatoes, and beverages will be supplied. Please sign up in the parish hall with how many are coming and if you are bringing a salad, dessert or other side. The fun begins at 3 p.m. with dinner at 4:30. Following dinner, we will have the Feast of Lights service led by the children and youth. Harris Hill United Methodist Church is joining us for the fun, food, fellowship and worship. |

Annual Meeting & Elections - January 30
| The Annual Parish Meeting will be Sunday January 30. We will call to order at 9:00. Here is the list of those running for Warden/Vestry:

Kitchen Wishlist
| A recent potluck dinner made us aware of several small kitchen items and utensils that we are presently lacking. If anyone has any extras of these items that they are willing to part with, we would be very grateful to received them.
- a set of SMALL pots
- a set of ceramic mixing bowls
- an electric mixer
- a rubber spatula (or two)
- a potato peeler (or two)
- a potato masher
- a knife sharpener
- a colander

DeVeaux Scholarships

Scholarships are once again available for Episcopal students who are either currently attending, or about to attend Niagara University. There are several different scholarships available. For more information, or to apply, please speak with Pastor Vicki. The deadline for application for awards for the 2011-2012 academic year is January 15, 2011.

Can You Help?
|
We are looking for people to be part of planning teams for a couple of events that will be happening in the spring. Each team is looking for 3 or 4 people to work with Pastor Vicki on the events. They are: The Episcopal Community Services campaign in March; the Easter Egg Hunt in April; The Carnival in May and a Vacation Bible School this summer. The sign up sheet is in the parish hall.
