This Week at St. Paul's
Adult Bible Study has begun again on Monday mornings at 10:15 am.  We are studying the Gospel of Luke this fall.  Join us!
Small Plates continues

The September Small Plates is focusing on the Election of the 11th Bishop of Western New York - we are talking about the polity of the church, the role of the Bishop, the candidates for our new Bishop and the process of electing and consenting to the election of a Bishop.

The Small Plates Class meets in the parish hall from 9:15 - 9:45 on
October 3.

Blessing of the Animals - THIS SUNDAY!!
Dog & cat clip artOctober 4 is the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi.  St. Francis is known, among other things, as a friend of animals. One of the traditions of the church is to bless the animals on St. Francis' day.

St. Paul's will be holding a blessing of the animals on Sunday October 3 at 3 p.m.  Bring your pets, your stuffed animals, your friends and your friend's pets and come along.

We will bless both live and stuffed animals.  Please have your pet on a leash or in a carrier or in some other way under control.

We will be collecting donations of pet food for the Pet Food Pantry at the Buffalo Companion Animal Network, which helps people who are having financial difficulties keep their pets. We will also be collecting gently used stuffed animals.  St. Martha's Guild will clean those and take them to the Erie County Home.

This is a great event to invite your friends to come with you for.  If the weather cooperates we will bless pets outdoors - if it doesn't we'll be in the parish hall.
2nd Annual Bike-a-Thon - October 9
Bicyclist clip artThe Second Annual St. Paul's Bike-a-thon will be Saturday October 9.  We still need riders and sponsors.  Pick up a sponsorship form from the poster in the parish hall if you'd like to ride - or sponsor a rider if you don't want to ride yourself.

Contact Ward Caldbick if you'd like to help with the bike-a-thon.

If you:
  • Will turn 15 before the end of the school year or are an adult
  • Have not been confirmed in the Episcopal, Roman Catholic or Eastern Orthodox churches
  • Wish to be a part of the Episcopal Church for this portion of your spiritual journey
You are eligible for Confirmation.

The preparation for Confirmation and Reception are the same.  Pastor Vicki will be conducting preparation classes beginning October 10. The classes will take place in the Parish Hall from 9:15 to 9:45 from October 10 through November 21.

The classes will include sessions on the beginnings of Anglicanism, the Episcopal Church and how the Episcopal Church approaches Scripture and Theology.  If you are interested in any of those topics, come along even if you are already confirmed.
20s/30s Group Meeting

The 20s/30s Group will meet on Sunday, October 24 at 1pm here at the church to eat and watch football.  Bring a dish to share.  Guests are welcome.  We hope you'll join us!
