This Week at St. Paul's
Adult Bible Study begins again this coming Monday (9/13) at 10:15 am.  We will be studying the Gospel of Luke this fall.  Join us!
The Year is Starting...THIS WEEKEND!

I know, I know, New Years is in January, but we all know that the year really starts in September.  Sunday School kick-off will be Sunday September 12. This year we will be starting Sunday School at 9:50 to give parents time to get to church before the service starts and the teachers a few more minutes with the kids.

We will start on the front lawn (or in the parish hall if it's raining) on the 12th - Bless the Backpacks and send the youth off to Sunday School with joy and then proceed into the church. Please come and bring your backpack and school supplies to donate to School 6 in Buffalo.
Backpack Blessing - THIS SUNDAY!

backpack clip artWe did a blessing of the backpacks combined with a school supply collection at the beginning of the school year last year - it has become a Diocesan wide event this year.  We will be blessing backpacks, students and teachers at the 10 a.m. service on September 12.  This is also our Sunday School kick-off day - so it will be a celebration of learning - more to come on this - but we are currently collecting school supplies for School 6 in Buffalo - so please stock up at the back-to school sales.  All school supplies are welcome, but especially back packs, pencils, pens, notebooks and notebook paper, glue sticks and rulers.  School supply donations may be placed in the labeled bin in the kitchen hallway.  Thank you!
Small Plates resumes September 19

The September Small Plates will focus on the Election of the 11th Bishop of Western New York - we will talk about the polity of the church, the role of the Bishop, the candidates for our new Bishop and the process of electing and consenting to the election of a Bishop.

The Small Plates Class will be in the parish hall from 9:15 - 9:45 on
September 19, 26, and October 3.

Acolyte Training - September 19
Acolyte clip art
Are you interested in being an acolyte? Now is your chance.  We will be having an acolyte training session on September 19 after the 10 o'clock service.  We are looking for both youth and adult acolytes.  Youth acolytes need to be nine years old or turning nine before the end of the school year.  Adult acolytes can be any age.  Come one, come all.
Ministry Fair - September 26
Volunteer clip artIt is time for our second annual ministry fair.  The Ministry Fair will be held on September 26 in the parish hall during coffee hour.  Every group and ministry in the church is invited to set up a table telling a little about your ministry and giving people an opportunity to volunteer to help with your ministry.  All you need is a few signs, a sign up sheet and someone to stand behind the table telling people about your group or project.  Please let the office know if you would like a table space for your group.  If you want to set up your table at 9 a.m. you can also talk to the people who attend the 8 o'clock service about your ministry or group.
