This Week at St. Paul's
Garage Sale - THIS SATURDAY!!!
Garage Sale clip artNow is your chance to sell those items around the house that you no longer use or want.  We are having a garage sale at St. Paul's on Saturday, August 14th.   The event is rain or shine.   Outdoor spaces are available for $10 and indoor spaces for $15.  For further information, please contact the church office or see Ron Stefanski, Bob Scheib or Mark Hout.  Sale policies and registration form can be found HERE.

If you don't have anything to sell, then by all means, stop by and see if perhaps someone else's trash is your treasure!
Deanery Picnic - THIS SUNDAY!!
The Eastern Erie Picnic will be Sunday August 22 - the picnic starts at noon at Stiglmeier Park on Losson Road in Cheektowaga - bring table service and a dish to pass - games and fun will be had by all.

This is a chance to get together with and to get to know Episcopalians from Calvary Church, Williamsville, St. Patrick's, Cheektowaga,
St. Peter's, Eggertsville, All Saints, Amherst, St. Michael and All Angels', Buffalo, St. Aiden's, Alden and Trinity, Lancaster - the churches that along with St. Paul's make up the Eastern Erie Deanery.

It's important that we all spend time getting to know each other - the Deanery provides the opportunity for us to come together to do mission and ministry that none of us can do alone - like sponsoring a refugee family and having bigger youth events.

To get to Stiglmeier Park take Transit Road to Cheektowaga - turn right on Losson Rd.  The park is on Losson Rd between Transit and Union Roads.
Youth Group Kick-off Picnic - August 29

Cookout clip artAttention all 7th through 12th graders - youth group is about to start.

We have a great new youth room - thanks to Koby Trout - check it out if you haven't yet.  We have a great group of adults who will be leading this year - Andrea Brown, Aaron Macke, Jason Miller, Brian Wesolowski, Jennifer Stege, Emily McCall, Pastor Vicki and Deacon Dan.  We have some exciting activities and events planned.

And it all starts on Sunday August 29 with a cook-out to kick it all off.

We will play games; have a cook-out at the rectory and talk about the plans for the year.
Backpack Blessing - September 12

backpack clip artWe did a blessing of the backpacks combined with a school supply collection at the beginning of the school year last year - it has become a Diocesan wide event this year.  We will be blessing backpacks, students and teachers at the 10 a.m. service on September 12.  This is also our Sunday School kick-off day - so it will be a celebration of learning - more to come on this - but we are currently collecting school supplies for School 6 in Buffalo - so please stock up at the back-to school sales.  All school supplies are welcome, but especially back packs, pencils, pens, notebooks and notebook paper, glue sticks and rulers.  School supply donations may be placed in the labeled bin in the kitchen hallway.  Thank you!
Summer Favorites
During July and August we are singing hymns that are favorites of parishioners.  For August 15 they are:

Hymn 688 - A mighty fortress is our God
Chosen by - Paul Jackson, because it adds strength to his belief.
LEVAS 219 - This is the Day
Chosen by - Katie Pazda.
Hymn 562 - Onward Christian Soldiers
Chosen by - Jean Stefanski, because it was her father's favourite and they sang it a lot in her Episcopal kindergarten.
