New on our website...
At the bottom of each page, you will now see a link to Amazon.com. If you click it, and allow it to take you to that site, then St. Paul's will automatically receive a percentage of whatever you spend on that visit for referring you. So, if you do a lot (or a little!) of shopping with Amazon, stop by the St. Paul's site first, and you'll be helping the church as well! Thanks!

ECW St. Patrick's Day Party

Bishop's Gala
|
The 2010 Bishop's Gala is on April 16 at 6 p.m. at Salvatore's. Proceeds of the Gala support Episcopal Community Services. This will be Michael and Carol's last Gala before their retirement. A feature of the Gala is a basket auction. Since St. Paul's is the church that children built and since we have a fair number of grandparents - Grandma and Grandpa's story time seemed like an appropriate theme. Cookie mix (for making cookies for story time) and a bottle of wine (for grandma & grandpa after the kids have fallen asleep) have already been donated. What we need is some children's books. Please bring a new children's book to church - we'll have a box in the office for them. Tickets to the gala are $65 and can be ordered from Richard Witt at 822-9769. Donna Leney has agreed to organize a table for St. Paul's folk to sit together - please speak with her to coordinate this.

Lent 2010 at St. Paul's
|
Saturday Evening Services - We will be offering Saturday evening Eucharist in the parish hall at 5:30 on the Saturdays in Lent. These will be multi-media services - they will use a combination of pictures, music and text projected on a screen. The services will have different flavors:
February 20 will be a U2Charist - a Eucharist using the music of U2 and focusing on the Millennium Development Goals and the effort to end poverty in our life-time.
February 27, March 6, 13, 20 & 27 will be more meditative services using a prayer from the earliest celebrations of the Eucharist that bless not only bread and wine, but cheese and olives and other food.
These are very different than traditional Eucharists- but come and check them out - maybe you'll see God in new ways.
Thursday Evening Lenten Series - We will be having a Lent Education series on Thursday evening - the topic this year will be God and Money - we will explore what God says about money and how our faith impacts our decisions about money.
The schedule for February 25, March 4, 11, & 18 is:
6:00 - 6:45 Potluck dinner - stop by KFC or the deli on your way home.
6:45 - 7:30 - Presentation & discussion
(and since you're already here you should stay and join the choir for practice) On March 25 we will have a public forum on financial and life planning for the elderly including issues of Medicare, Long term care insurance, estate planning and planned giving.
Meditation Calendar - for use at home by individuals and families, for each week there is a reading and for each day a question and an activity - the activity will lead to the collection of some funds for a charitable contribution - this year that will be given to for the refugee family our deanery is adopting. Pick up your calendar in the parish hall.
Whatever you do for Lent, try to find some time to add to your prayer and spiritual life.
