Communion
Preparation
The Episcopal Church teaches that baptism is all that is necessary for receiving communion.

Some parents want to have a little more preparation for their children or to have some additional teaching after they have been receiving for a few years.

If you would like a copy of St. Paul's communion study guide to use with your child, let Pastor Vicki know paulsrector@gmail.com
This Week at St. Paul's
Two pastoral concerns:

Ron Stefanski has broken his leg near the hip.  He is home, but is required to keep the hip immobile for six weeks.  Calls and visits (pre-arranged please) are welcomed.

Phylene Brown is coming home from the Weinberg campus today.  Calls and notes to welcome her home are welcomed.
Sunday School November Project

Please, bring your shoe boxes to church on November 22.
St. Martha's Guild gets you ready for Christmas
St. Martha's Guild is currently selling Christmas stockings and gift certificates to Delta Sonic Car Wash, which is a great thing to stuff in those stockings.

See the table in the parish hall.

Keep an eye out for the upcoming annual sale of wreathes and centerpieces too.
Small Plates

platesIn a restaurant a small plate is a little taste of a dish.  We are offering a small plate of adult education in December.

The topic is: "How the Bible became a book: What was included, what was left out and why".

The tastes will be offered Sunday December 6, 13, & 20 from 9:15 to 9:45 in the parish hall.
Advent is Coming

Advent WreathAs hard as it is to believe, Advent is coming.

The first Sunday in Advent is November 29, which is also the Sunday after Thanksgiving.

There will be no Sunday School on the 29th.

However, all are invited to gather in the parish hall at 9:00 to make an Advent Wreath for your family and to talk about Advent and how to mark it as a family in your home.
Music at Calvary

Calvary Church in Williamsville is offering two musical opportunities.

Friday December 4 at 7:30 p.m. - There will be a concert by acclaimed guitarist Mir Ali.  The cost is $15 at the door (or $10 in advance).  The concert will be followed by a reception.

Sunday December 6 at 4:30 p.m. - There will be a choral Eucharist for St. Nicholas' Day.  Suzanne Thomas from the Buffalo Philharmonic will be playing the harp.
Clarence  Community Thanksgiving Service
Will be Wednesday November 25 at 7 p.m. at Clarence Presbyterian Church on Main Street (next to the high school).  Pastor Vicki will be preaching.
