Communion
Preparation
The Episcopal Church teaches that baptism is all that is necessary for receiving communion.

Some parents want to have a little more preparation for their children or to have some additional teaching after they have been receiving for a few years.

If you would like a copy of St. Paul's communion study guide to use with your child, let Pastor Vicki know paulsrector@gmail.com
This Week at St. Paul's
We are quickly moving toward the end of the year - if you have not yet turned in your 2010 pledge card, please do that soon.  Let the office know if you need a pledge card.
Fall Work Day

The fall outdoor parish work day will be Saturday November 14.  Please meet at church at 9 a.m.
Movie ReelMovie on the Big Screen

And with better snacks then at the theater.  Come on Sunday - November 15 at 2 p.m.  For a showing of WALL-E, snacks and discussion.  We can't sell tickets, so bring a food donation for the food pantry at Trinity, Lancaster.
St. Martha's Guild gets you ready for Christmas
St. Martha's Guild is currently selling Christmas stockings and gift certificates to Delta Sonic Car Wash, which is a great thing to stuff in those stockings.

See the table in the parish hall.

Keep an eye out for the upcoming annual sale of wreathes and centerpieces too.
Theology on Tap
We will be starting a program called "Theology on Tap" in November.  Once a month we will gather in a place where we can have some beer (or soda) and snacks and discuss God, theology, the church and the world.  It will be a casual gathering with the topics varying from month to month.

The first one will be Wednesday November 18 at 8:30 p.m. at the Clarence Grill on Main at Shisler.  We will continue to gather on the third Wednesday of the month, with the time and the place being open to change as we see how it goes.
Sunday School November Project
 gift
Is Operation Christmas Child, a program that sends shoe boxes full of small gifts to children in refuge camps, homeless shelters, and orphanages in the United States and all around the world.

You can help by picking up a brochure from the poster in the parish hall and pack a shoe box.  Bring your shoe boxes to church on November 22.  Or you can make a contribution to cover the cost of shipping.
Advent is Coming

Advent WreathAs hard as it is to believe, Advent is coming.

The first Sunday in Advent is November 29, which is also the Sunday after Thanksgiving.

There will be no Sunday School on the 29th.

However, all are invited to gather in the parish hall at 9:00 to make an Advent Wreath for your family and to talk about Advent and how to mark it as a family in your home.
