Communion
Preparation
The Episcopal Church teaches that baptism is all that is necessary for receiving communion.

Some parents want to have a little more preparation for their children or to have some additional teaching after they have been receiving for a few years.

If you would like a copy of St. Paul's communion study guide to use with your child, let Pastor Vicki know paulsrector@gmail.com
This Week at St. Paul's

Welcome Daniel Frezer Hibschwiler to our family - his big brother Charley and mom Arlene are happy that he has arrived safely from Ethiopia.
Fall Work Day

The fall outdoor parish work day will be Saturday November 14.  Please meet at church at 9 a.m.

We are looking for a few people to make lunch for the workers.  Please e-mail Ward Caldbick (wcaldbick@hotmail.com) if you are able to help.
St. Martha's Guild gets you ready for Christmas
St. Martha's Guild is currently selling Christmas stockings and gift certificates to Delta Sonic Car Wash, which is a great thing to stuff in those stockings.

See the table in the parish hall.

Keep an eye out for the upcoming annual sale of wreathes and centerpieces too.
Some Ways to Get Involved

We are developing a group of "welcomers" to greet visitors to St. Paul's and help them find their way and get to know us.  Those interested will be meeting in the parish hall on November 8 at 9:15

There will be a brief meeting of readers and chalice bearers (and those interested in being a reader or chalice bearer) in the parish hall at 9:15 on November 15.

We need a few more people to help with counting the Sunday collection.  Training will be provided.  Send an e-mail to Steve Anderson at  andersonsp@roadrunner.com if you are interested.
Sunday School November Project
 gift
Is Operation Christmas Child, a program that sends shoe boxes full of small gifts to children in refuge camps, homeless shelters, and orphanages in the United States and all around the world.

You can help by picking up a brochure from the poster in the parish hall and pack a shoe box.  Bring your shoe boxes to church on November 22.  Or you can make a contribution to cover the cost of shipping.
Youth Events
Eastern Erie Deanery Youth - November 7 - Youth group for grades 5 - 8.  Meet at St. Paul's at 2:30 p.m for a progressive dinner and video scavenger hunt.  Bring a digital camera (and the cord to connect it to the computer).  One or two drivers would be apprectiated

Youth Group - November 8 - Grades 7 - 12 after church until 2 p.m. - Lunch provided - we will be working on plans for renovating the youth room, the youth and church's facebook pages and the St. Nicholas' party.
Theology on Tap
We will be starting a program called "Theology on Tap" in November.  Once a month we will gather in a place where we can have some beer (or soda) and snacks and discuss God, theology, the church and the world.  It will be a casual gathering with the topics varying from month to month.

The first one will be Wednesday November 18 at 8:30 p.m. at the Clarence Grill on Main at Shisler.  We will continue to gather on the third Wednesday of the month, with the time and the place being open to change as we see how it goes.
Did you take pictures of the Halloween Party???

If so please send them to Pastor Vicki at paulsrector@gmail.com
