Ministry Fair
Ministry Fair is an opportunity to celebrate the ministries of the church and for all of us to find out a little about all the things that are going on here at the church and that the church is doing out in the world (it's also a chance to get involved in a new ministry).

If you are the head of a ministry at St. Paul's, prepare a table display about your ministry and make sure you have someone to staff the table too.
Dancing in the Streets at Calvary
Yes, you read that right, there will be dancing on Milton Street in Williamsville

Calvary Church is having an Oktoberfest September 26 from 4 to 8 p.m.

Go, lift a beer, have a brat and a dance and help support our neighbors
St. Paul's - a place children want to be
One of the goals for this year is to make St. Paul's a place that children want to be.

Part of that is making St. Paul's a safe place for children.

Safe Church training is being offered on Saturday November 22 from 10 to 3 at St. Peter's Eggertsville.

Pastor Vicki will be going.  If  you'd like to attend please let her know.
This Week at St. Paul's
Thanks to everyone who helped make the Celebration of New Ministry last Friday such a wonderful day.  The service & the party were wonderful!
Calling all Youth - and your friends with creepy imaginations

The next youth group meeting will be this Sunday, September 27 after the 10 o'clock service.  One of the things we will be talking about is planning the Haunted House for the Halloween party, so bring your friends who can help us plan the creepiest Haunted House ever.

Also, for those in grade 9 - 12 - Happening is coming.  Happening is a retreat for high school youth led largely by high school youth.  The next one is November 13 - 15 at Camp Pioneer in Angloa.  The application deadline to participate is October 3.

Happening is a great experience and definately worth the time, it also lets you meet other Episcopal youth.  If you think you might be interested, let Pastor Vicki or Andrea know.
Fall is the time for football

footballAnd St. Paul's is joining in the fun.  We will be going to the UB Bulls game on October 3.

The game is at 3:30.  We will meet at the Church at noon to head over and tailgate, so bring your tailgate food & chairs.

In case of inclimate weather we will tailgate in the Parish Hall so, get out your tailgate recipies and remember to wear blue!
Are you being called?
We are electing a new Bishop next year.  One of the groups that is being assembled is the Transition Committee.  This group will organize the visits of candidates to Western New York, the Electing Convention, the Consecration of the New Bishop and the farewell celebrations for Bishop Michael & Carol Garrison.

One lay person and one clergy person from each deanery are needed on the committee.  They will be elected by deanery caucus at Convention.

If you think you might be called to this ministry let one of our Convention Delegates (Ward Caldbick, Mona Gaddis, Ron Stefanski or Pastor Vicki) know.
St. Francis of Assisi - October 4
The feast day of St. Francis of Assisi is Sunday October 4.  St. Francis was known for kindness to animals and feeding the poor.  We will have the chance to do both to celebrate his day.

Blessing of the Animals - is a St. Francis' day tradition. We will bless all animals (live and stuffed) at 3 p.m.

We will bless both live and stuffed animals.  Please have your pet on a leash or in a carrier or in some other way under control.

We will be collecting donations of pet food for the Pet Food Pantry at the Buffalo Companion Animal Network, which helps people who are having financial difficulties keep their pets.  We will also be collecting gently used stuffed animals.  St. Martha's Guild will clean those and take them to the Erie County Home.

Clarence Walk for Meals on Wheels & Clarence Food Pantry  will end at St. Paul's at about 3 p.m. also.  It starts at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church at 1 p.m.  If you'd like to walk, get a sponsorship form from Pastor Vicki.  If you walk with your dog (and your cat if you can get it to walk on a leash), you can arrive just in time for the animal blessing.
Ride your bike - and help St. Paul's

St. Paul's is having a bike-a-thon on October 10.

Information and sponsorship forms are available in the parish hall.

Ward Caldbick is organizing the bike-a-thon.  Contact him at wcaldbick@hotmail.com for more information or to offer to help.
Halloween Party

pumpkin
We are reviving the tradition of the St. Paul's Halloween Party.  It will be Friday October 30 from 6 to 8 p.m.  The Youth Group is hosting a haunted house.  The Sunday School teachers are planning some games, the Parish Life committee is organizing the food and the parking for the Trunk or Treat.

We need a few more people to plan some games.  We also need people to bring food and to participate in Trunk or Treat.

If you'd like to help the youth group with the haunted house, contact Andrea Brown at andrealtbrown@gmail.com.

If you'd be willing to plan and run a game, contact Mona Gaddis at megaddis@verizon.net.  Mona won't be able to actually be at the party, because Diocesan Convention is the same day.  So if you'd be willing to be the games coordinator, let her know that too.

If you'd be willing to help with food or trunk or treat contact Mary McCall at mary@nightflax.com.

If you'd be willing to help publicize the event in the wider community contact Pastor Vicki at paulsrector@gmail.com.

Kate Macke has agreed to be the over-all coordinator - she will earn a special place in heaven for that, if you'd like to help coordinate contact her at kmacke@azerty.com.

If you want a great parking spot, plan on decorating your trunk and bringing treats for the kids, because Trunk or Treat participants get the best spots.
Plays, Concerts, Soccer Games and more
Pastor Vicki really wants to support the youth of the church in their activities.  She likes to attend soccer games, cross country meets, science fairs, school plays, holiday concerts, dance recitals and anything else that our youth are involved in.  Please let her know when your events are coming up and give her your team's schedules.  The more notice she has about upcoming events the easier it is for her to arrange her calendar to be able to attend.
