Greetings!
I want to express my appreciation to you for your support!! Since we began our mission to impact the future of those affected by Facioscapulohumeral Muscular Dystrophy (FSH) by supporting the development of a treatment or cure for FSH, I have been overwhelmed by the amazing support we have received. Thank You!
When Friends of FSH Research was founded in 2004, we pursued our mission by stimulating new research through the funding of pilot projects. With the success of those pilot studies, large grants are now being awarded by the National Institutes of Health and the MDA to FSH researchers. This means our role is expanding. To meet the needs of FSH researchers and to facilitate their work in the lab, we are establishing the FLEX.
This FLEX-able fund, the FLEX, will provide researchers with a funding source for things not covered by their existing funding. Similar to business's "petty cash" fund this will be a fund for the unexpected. Researchers can request supplemental funding from the FLEX for supplies, equipment, tests, specimens and materials not covered by their other funding.
The FLEX will add more "muscle" to current FSH research funding, moving us closer to a treatment or cure.
Sincerely, Terry Colella President, Founder Friends of FSH Research
