Dear GVCCC Friends and Members,
This week, we have been getting prepared for our two big events coming up in October that we mentioned in last week's newsletter. The first is the Small Business Expo on October 5th which is a great networking event for business owners with workshops and informative seminars to attend. The second event is Out to Work, the largest LGBT Job Fair in the Northeast. Time is limited, though, and exhibitor registration will be cut off at 50. Sign up to be an exhibitor at both of these great events today.
We'd also like to introduce BigAppleRx, a new prescription drug discount card program that was recently released in New York. This program is a great deal for both small business owners and their employees!
If you would enjoy a free foreign language tour from Gray Line tours, be sure to tweet who and why you'd like to go @gvcchamber!
Finally, the GVCCC would like to announce its support of the Blue Note's application for a liquor license. The Blue Note has been a premier jazz club in the world, and a Greenwich Village institution, helping many artists develop and explore their musical talents. You can access our public letter of support here.
See below for additional events and chamber happenings.
Best,
GVCCC

BigAppleRx Comes to New York City!
| |
Small business owners, take notice! A new prescription drug discount card program called BigAppleRx has come to New York.
In just two and a half months after announcing the BigAppleRx card, New Yorkers have saved almost $625,000 in prescription drug costs. With the card, you can expect an average overall savings of 47% on prescription medications, with 15% average on brand name drugs and 53% average on generic drugs. The card can help you save on many types of drugs, and there is no limit on the number of times you can use it. The card provides discounts at over 2,000 pharmacies in all five boroughs, as well as over 68,000 pharmacies in the U.S.
The BigAppleRx card is FREE, and available to everyone living in working in or visiting the City, regardless of age, income, citizenship or health insurance status. No personal information or enrollment is required to use the card. Although the card can be used by anyone, it will be of greatest benefit to people without health insurance or prescription drug insurance. The card is NOT insurance- a discount is taken off the regular price of the prescription when you present the card at a participating pharmacy.
It's easy to get the card, which is available in a variety of ways:
Online:
Go to www.BigAppleRx.com to download a card or write down the necessary information.
By phone:
Call 311, and one of our representatives can send you a card, give you the information to write down, or tell you where you can pick up a card.
In person:
Cards are available in numerous locations throughout all five boroughs. A complete listing can be found at www.BigAppleRx.com by clicking "Card Distribution Locations," or you can call 311 to find a location close to you.
So business owners, make sure to pass this information along to your employees!
