Dear GVCCC Friends and Members,
Last week the GVCCC hosted an international mixer with the Traditional Chinese Medicine World Foundation and the Turkish, Russian and Chinese Chambers of Commerce. The event was a huge hit, and had a great turnout of over 40 people. Members from all four chambers, as well as other small businesses around the area attended and participated in a great networking opportunity. Thank you to Chamber Champion TD Bank for sponsoring the event.
In other news, it has been reported that there have been several acts of vandalism in the West Village. These acts are not to be tolerated, and the GVCCC would like to announce the creation of a task force, dedicated to address these events.
Lastly, in continuation of our newsletter last week, check out the great giveaway at the bottom of the Newsletter. And, a big welcome to PriMedia for joining the GVCCC this week!
Best,
GVCCC

International Business-to-Business Mixer
| |
On Thursday, July 21, the GVCCC hosted an international mixer with the Russian, Turkish, & Chinese Chambers of Commerce. We want to thank all of the attendees and those who helped us put together this fantastic networking event.
The mixer was a huge success, drawing over 40 professionals from the NYC business community. Businesses from all over Manhattan convened at the Traditional Chinese Medicine World Foundation and enjoyed food and wine donated by Magnolia Bakery, Di Fiore Marquet Cafe, Pop Chips and City Winery.
Turkish-American Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Safak Dogan won the evening's raffle, receiving a gift card from our sponsors at TD Bank.
Attendee Alex Kouznetsov of PriMedia said, "I had a great time at the International business-to-business mixer hosted by the GVCCC . It was well organized and it was very easy to interact with everyone. PriMedia is excited to become part of the Chamber, we look forward to working with such an important neighborhood institution."

Vandalism Task Force
| |
It has come to our attention through recent events that areas of the West Village, specifically Christopher Street and the area surrounding the Lucille Lortel Theater and PATH Station, are experiencing a notable uptick in criminal activity. The NYPD has informed us that violent crime has increased near the PATH Station on Christopher Street and that several acts of vandalism and destruction of property have been reported, including several large glass panes being shattered at the Theater itself.
Needless to say, this impacts both the residential and business communities in a profound way. It is concerning and frightening when our streets become unsafe, and the time to act is now.
There is power in numbers, and we are a strong community capable of solving this problem before it becomes a crisis. The GVCCC is announcing the formulation of a task force that will address these recent developments in a direct and effective manner.
The first meeting of the Keeping Our Village Safe Task Force (KOVS) will be held on August 9th. More information will be made available as the meeting approaches, but sign-ups for the KOVS Task Force are currently open. We ask that you rise to the challenge and do your part to protect the community of which we are all a part. Please respond with your RSVP for this important meeting to (646)470-1773 or at tom@villagechelsea.com.
