Out To Work: Are You Hiring?
Out To Work is a great opportunity for your company to access talent within the LGBT community and to recruit from a broad, qualified group of professionals.  It is also a chance for your company to demonstrate your commitment to diversity.

Here are just a few things to consider regarding Out To Work 2010:
  • This year, we anticipate 3,000+ attendees with strong professional and educational backgrounds that are certain to meet your recruiting needs
  • Out To Work will offer an ongoing online resource for job seekers, providing your company with continuous visibility in the LGBT community and a direct link to your website's career page
  • Out To Work has hosted such prestigious exhibitors as HBO, Johnson & Johnson, Wachovia, Prudential, Pepsi, the NYPD and many more.
  • Last year's event was covered by many press outlets including The NY Times, Chelsea Now and more
Events like Out To Work bolster economic optimism by showing that companies of every size are, in fact, hiring and looking for diverse talent. If your company is hiring, you should consider participating in this great event!

Paid Sick Leave Survey - Your Input is Needed by August 12!

The Partnership for New York City is coordinating a survey of the city's employers in connection with the paid sick leave legislation that is pending in the City Council. The purpose is to provide the Council with an accurate picture of both current employer practices and potential costs of the proposed sick leave mandate.  All New York City private and non-profit employers, both small and large, are asked to complete an easy online survey.

Responses will be kept confidential and we hope you will take the time to complete the survey, regardless of whether the proposed legislation directly affects your business, as this is an important issue for the New York City business climate as a whole.

Responses are requested by August 12, 2010. We encourage businesses to circulate the survey to clients and other business owners so that a wide range of data can be collected.

Click here to complete this confidential survey and inform the Council of your experience.

Help the City Council Save The Mom & Pops
Small Businesses are a vital component to our City's economy.  Speaker Quinn and the City Council, along with the Mayor's Office, the New York City Economic Development Corporation, the Department of Small Business Services, and the Department of City Planning, are asking you to take a survey.

The goal is for local merchants and other active local entities to share information in an effort to shape citywide policy with regard to small business.
