New products from Skinflint:
Angled Cotton Mill Shade

Our latest additions have a decidedly nautical feel to them with 1950's bulkhead lights salvaged from Japanese cargo ships, a large run of steel and glass Naval passageway lights by "Osaka Tokushu" and two runs of very interesting 'Man Overboard' lights. In addition to these maritime treasures we have some stunning grey enamel shades by Benjamin with white glass diffusers and some extra large parabolic factory shades salvaged from a cotton mill in Lancashire.
This is a small selection of products added to our range this month.

Man Overboard Lights:
Ex MOD man overboard marker lights

We were thrilled to acquire a large run of British Navy man overboard polished brass marker lights. These incredibly clever devices were originally used onboard Naval vessels, where they hung by a small hook on the deck lifebuoys. Should a crew member be unlucky enough to fall into the water the buoy would be thrown, lamp and all towards the unfortunate individual. Hopefully the 'man overboard' would then grab the ring and await rescue. The battery operated light would automatically illuminate upon hitting the water and stay upright due to its clever design, marking the spot of the fall.

We have now replaced their internal workings and have converted them into attractive suspended feature lights, each lamp comes supplied with a complimentary energy saving LED bulb and an incredible history!

Project Focus:
Jamies Italian Portsmouth
Jamie's Italian, Portsmouth

A number of our products feature in this years nominations for the Restaurant & Bar design awards, including Jamie's Italian in Portsmouth, designed by Architects Stiff and Trevellion. Their impressive design features many of our products in its lighting scheme, notably a large number of our black enamel and bakelite Eastern Bloc Factory Shades.
We'd like to wish all the nominees good luck and look forward to hearing the short-list announcement on the 20th of June.
