Dear Friends,Sue & Ornament

Etched in my mind forever is the installation of the Chihuly chandelier at the Lorry I. Lokey Stem Cell Building at the School of Medicine
at Stanford University that took place last fall.
Three very talented men, from the Chihuly workshop in Seattle
worked in harmony to create this magnificent piece. This Newsletter is to share that memory with you.
The chandelier was created to honor all those who wear the blue dots as well as to be an inspiration to those who do research in this building.  I hope you will visit the Stem Cell Building and gaze upon this unique piece of blown glass art. In your minds eye select one of those  pieces that will forever stand as a tribute to your loved one who wears the blue dots.
Next month we will share what is new, but before we move forward, let us first acknowledge the past.
If you would like to see a time-lapse video of this impressive piece being installed, please visit:

      CANCER will be
                           CURED sometime
                                   why

An Awesome Sight

In my treasure bank of memories

Last fall is as clear as it can be.

Three great artists installing the Chihuly

Was an awesome sight to see.

Three tiers, six shapes, three colors of glass,

On these massive steel structures were hung.

Two thousand seventy-one unique glass pieces

Weighing two and a half ton.

Piece by piece it was installed

Completed in only ten days.

An iconic piece that radiates light

And to the world it does say...

"We're mixing art with science to-

                           create healing, hope, and health,

For curing cancer is our goal.

Scientific research will find a cure

And the arts will heal the soul."
