Upcoming Events

Our Lenten journey is in process as we make our way towards the celebration of the Triduum and the glory of the Easter Season.  Our baptismal promises are lived out through the practices of prayer, fasting, almsgiving and our work for justice.  Our adult faith is expanded and deepened through ongoing learning. Many of us are meeting in small groups to reflect on the Lenten readings.  Others spend time in formal Bible Study or in private or family-based Lenten reflection.  This email focuses on upcoming opportunities for continued adult learning that will occur during Lent and into the Easter season.  Mark your calendars (or whatever electronic device that holds your schedule) and plan to attend one or more of these special offerings.

Hope to see you!

If you live in Arvada, this is going to be a great project.  If you don't live in Arvada, this is still going to be a great project for you in your neighborhood.

At an early planning meeting for the Arvada area Christian churches'  project Building Blocks: Rediscovering the Art of Neighboring, Arvada Mayor (and Spirit of Christ Catholic Community member, ) Bob Frie  said "what our city needs are good neighbors . . . the majority of the issues that our community is facing would be eliminated or drastically reduced if we could just become a community of people who are great neighbors."

As one of the pastors who was at that meeting put it "here we are asking the mayor what areas of the city are most in need, and he basically tells us that it would be great if we could just encourage our people to obey the second half of the Great Commandment."

Part of Spirit of Christ's involvement in this ecumenical outreach is the development of  three S.O.N. presentations which will focus on the three main topics of the April project.  You will hear these themes echoed in the liturgies on the three weekends following Easter.  There will also be suggestions as to how we can all become better neighbors to our neighbors, no matter where we live!
