Dear Loyal Listener,

Here we are in early December and it's a balmy 65 outside with only a recent hint of winter weather.  Thanksgiving is done and there are still plenty of leftovers in the fridge as our hearts turn towards the most wonderful time of the year, Christmas.

There is a buzz throughout Frederick County this week as once again, history is being repeated....in the past two out of three years, two Frederick County football teams are in the Maryland State Championships at M&T Bank stadium.    What else can you say about the level of athletics in our area, but amazing!  The coaches, players and fans of Middletown and Thomas Johnson High Schools are proudly carrying our banner this year and we find ourselves watching in awe as a legend in football, Coach Ben Wright of TJ prepares to coach his final game of 44 years on Saturday, Dec. 3.  That's right 44 years!  That is not a typo.  Many of you reading this newsletter were probably still in high school  yourselves when he began his career at DuVal.  Coach Ben Wright has been the head coach at TJ for 26 years and this team has fought through the last five games in a row as the "underdog" in order to put them in the position to hand him a championship trophy to hold aloft as he leaves his last football game as their coach.  Sounds like movie material doesn't it?  Remember the Titans, Blindside, Patriots fight for Wright? The story remains to be written in just 3 days.

Coach Wright reminds us that history will look kindly on those who make a difference by dedicating their lives to the service of others and it is our prayer that we remember the one who was born on the quiet, still night in Bethlehem as the angels looked down and the animals in the manger gazed upon the baby, the most important in history who came in human form as God with us....Emmanuel.  The Lord Jesus who spoke and the universe leapt into existence.

May your eyes gaze upon the Christ child in wonder with amazement at how so much love could be so humble and yet so simple.  Jesus is the Source of all this love.

Merry Christmas and "May the Source be with You" !
