City Manager Minute: Reminders
 I just wanted to take this opportunity to remind you of a couple important items:
1. The citizen survey will be coming to a close on Friday, June 10th. If someone from your household hasn't taken the survey please do so. This is an excellent tool for staff to use to make better decisions for our community. Staff will be preparing the result for you to view in an upcoming enewsletter.
2. The city has vacancies to fill for city boards and commissions. Please considering joining a board. It is a small time commitment about 2 hours each month, but is a rewarding experience and keeps you in touch with the heartbeat of the city. |

Used Cell Phone Fundraiser for Fire Dept.
 The Anna Fire Department is collecting used cell phones to recycle. The Fire Dept. receives $5-$10 per recycled phone. All the funds go into the education and training fund for the volunteers. Feel free to drop-off the used phones Monday thru Friday 8am-5pm.

Fireworks Celebration
 The Anna Community Development Corporation (CDC) and the Anna Economic Development Corporation (EDC) are sponsoring an Independence holiday fireworks show. The fireworks will be on Sunday, July 3rd at dusk around 9pm. The football stadium will be open for sitting in the bleachers. The fireworks show will be free and open to the general public. Hope to see you there!
Please remember that other private displays or individual use of fireworks are not permitted anywhere in the City Limits of Anna or within 5,000 feet of the City Limits (unless that 5,000 feet is inside of another City in which case you will have to follow their Ordinances). Anna Police Officers will deal with fireworks disturbances just as they would any misdemeanor call, i.e. the responding officer will exercise discretion that could result in a ticket, fireworks confiscation, or both. An individual could face fines of up to $2,000 for each violation!
