As we all know, the Masters and Juniors Road Race State Championships were slated to be held in Larimer County next month.  The course ended up being ground zero for the High Park fire, and with the mud control and reconstruction activity now underway, racing in that area is simply not an option.  The High Park fire changed everything, not only for us but obviously for the residents who lost so much.   

As an organization, we had a choice to make... cancel the race and give up, or figure out a way to preserve the event and create a Championship someplace else.   

We chose the latter.

We reached out for help, and Littleton Masters (Lima Beans) and Team Rocky Mountain Health Plans stepped up to put on the race.  In a very short time, they have pulled together what is sure to be a day of fun racing, with food, podium presenters, follow cars... it has all the workings to be a great day to race your bike. 

The venue is in Keenesburg, a cute little town just northeast of Denver and straight east of Boulder.  It's a very short drive from pretty much anywhere, including both cities.    

Come out and be a part of a great race to support a great cause - raising money to help the victims of both the High Park and Waldo Canyon fires.  This is our chance for the cycling community to come together and show Colorado that we care, so please make every effort to come out and race.  We'll be accepting donations, and women who race in the men's category will get 50% of their entry fee donated!   

Rocky Mountain Health Plans has seeded the fund with $500... so let's see just how much we can raise to help those who have lost everything.
