Update on ACA's Timing System
We had a big week of working on the timing system!
We had on-site support from the vendor's technical guy and the software engineer who owns the company. The first two days were in a classroom environment, followed by testing at two events (CSP Table Mtn Crit and KHMTT #7).
We have multiple pieces of new hardware and now have the ability to double-check the system's performance. We are up to speed on the latest software (which integrates the finish line camera with the chip timing). We have basic operating manuals in English. Essentially, the vendor has provided the equipment that we need to make the system functional.
Going forward, the timing system will be in use at all upcoming BAR/BAT events starting on June 4th, 2011. This will be the weekend of the E-Rock and City Park Criteriums.
Rest assured, we will be testing the timing system at these first events. Official race scoring will be accomplished with our officials and regular finish line camera, while the timing system will be used to gather data. Please help spread the word regarding this implementation date to your friends, teammates, and club leaders. Thanks for your patience as we get this system up to speed!
