Race Communiqué

No one was penalized for warming up in the boat loading parking lot.

As a reminder, regardless of the weather, we are being watched by person(s) who don't appreciate our having a competitive event in a state park.  The park ranger reminds us that we must adhere to the centerline rule.  Yes, even though no one else was using the park last Wednesday we must play by the rules.

The penalty for abusing the centerline rule is disqualification.  If I had received a racing number instead of a complaint, that rider who braved the elements to compete would have been disqualified.  What a miserable end to a miserable day that would have been.

We have two more races this year, so let's be good neighbors.

Rider #442, just because the law allows us full use of the right lane, don't be a jerk about it.  If you deem it necessary to ride at a leisurely pace, please do the bike-friendly thing, ride to the right and allow vehicles to pass, particularly when they are stacked up behind you.

Additional message from the ACA for KHMTT #6 and #7

1- Please stay to the right except to pass!!  Riders who fill the lane are causing dangerous and unnecessary situations for race and other traffic.  Stay to the Right!

2- Bring your timing chips.  We will be using the timing system at KHMTT #6 and #7 with input from the system's engineers - so we need your bike to be chipped.

3- For #6, it's probably going to rain again.  Please note:  the race is ON unless it is announced as cancelled.  If you don't see a cancellation notice, it is on.

Thanks all.
