ACA Communication

One of the ACA's goals is to create effective, consistent and clear communication with our members.  We use six communication tools:

1 - The ACA website - Your primary source for ACA information.  Please check here first for updates.

2- e-Newsletters - Monthly during the racing seasons

3- e-Reminders - Bi-weekly during the racing seasons, and special emails for cancellations/postponements

We also use social media:

5- Twitter    Follow us on Twitter

And last, but certainly not least, we rely on our Official Media Partner:

Please share this information with your club, teammates and friends.
Upcoming ACA Events:

May is chock full of racing goodness:

Please see the ACA event calendar for the full year calendar -
and if you enjoy racing, thank a promoter!

Junior Update & Save the Dates

As always, the ACA is committed to attracting and developing junior cyclists.  Most ACA events offer our Juniors Ride Free program, and the following two events are designed just for juniors:

2011 ACA Junior Road Camp  - May 14 & 15 - Empire, Colorado
2011 ACA Junior Mini Classic  - June 4 & 5 - Silt, Colorado
Events That Need Volunteers and Volunteers Who Need Events

The following events need volunteers.  If your club needs to fulfill its obligation, or if you want to race for free, please contact the promoters of the following events:

Hugo RR -   Saturday - May, 14, 2011.  Great way to get your volunteering requirements out of the way before the summer...

Volunteer Requirement: 5 ~ 8 Volunteers during the day of the race.  Help with Registration, Marshaling, Follow Vehicle and Feedzone. We also have the possibility for a Boulder-based club to help the day after the race, Sunday May 15, sorting and washing waterbottles discarded from the feedzone.  Takes 2 ~ 3 hours to go through the 1200 bottles.

Please email Linda to help: Volunteer@CyclingEvents.com

Coal Miners Classic - June 12, 2011

Timing System

Please bring your timing chip to all events that use the new timing system - this includes all BAR/BAT events and all KHMTT races.

Please note #1: Starting in May, racers without a chip will not be scored.

Please note #2: Be aware of approaching the start/finish lines when not racing - your chip can register from 10 feet away from the line!  Listen for officials' directions, as this well help keep the results much cleaner.

Please note #3: Every race in May will have two scoring systems in place:

1- our great officials and the finish line camera

2- the new timing system (which will incorporate a finish line camera as well)

Thank you for all your patience and constructive comments as we roll-out this new technology.

Please see the ACA website www.americancycling.org for more information

and photos of proper chip placement.

If you raced in any of these April events, please take a second and complete a short survey for each event.  These surveys help our promoters and officials to improve our races.  Your opinion counts, and thanks for taking the time to contribute!
