Karen Hornbostel Memorial Time Trial Series at Cherry Creek State Park
Registration Opens March 1st
  
Now in its 20th year, the KHMTT Series will challenge riders with 7 weeks of racing over 9.5 miles of twists, turns, ups, downs, wind and hills. The Series is a fundraiser for Cancer Fitness Institute and the ACA.  Please see the race flyer for all the important information, including details regarding the on-line-only pre-registration that opens at High Noon on March 1, 2011.  This event is traditionally sold out in less than two hours, so be prepared!

First Race of 2011 - The Frostbite Time Trial - March 5th

This great event is the perfect test of your early season fitness, so take advantage of the opportunity to push on those pedals.  Please see the race flyer for more information and support this fantastic early season event.
Junior Update
New Junior Development Coordinator - Bruce Whitesel

The ACA is incredibly pleased to introduce Bruce Whitesel as our new Junior Development Coordinator.  Bruce raced as a professional in the US and Europe, and is the father of young ski and bike athletes.  We welcome Bruce and look forward to building on our success with junior development.  Upcoming highlights for juniors:
  • Please contact Bruce for a schedule of junior training rides.
  • Juniors planning on racing the KHMTT Cherry Creek Series need to renew their licenses prior to the March 1st registration.   
  • Junior Road Camp will take place May 14 and 15 (check-in on the 13th). 
  • The Junior Mini Classic will take place June 4th and 5th in Rifle.

Transponder System and Chip Location

 

A quick update - we will be rolling out the transponder system this season as scheduled.  Thank you to everyone who has purchased their transponder in advance, as this will help our process on every race day.  The chip's location on your bike has yet to be determined, so thanks for your patience while we run some tests on the system.  The timing system is going to be great for racers, officials and promoters!
Unclaimed Awards from 2009 and 2010
There are quite a few 2010 - and even 2009 - awards here in the ACA office (1010 Washington Avenue in downtown Golden).  Please contact me before February 25, 2011 to arrange pick up, as we will not ship these awards, and will return them to the awards vendor after this day.  Please contact me at execdir@americancycling.org.
