2010 BAR/BAT and Cross Cup Awards Parties THIS WEEK!
Both Senior/Master and Junior Awards Parties take place this week at the American Mountaineering Center, located at 710 10th Street in Golden.  Friday evening from 6-9 is the Senior/Master Awards Party featuring pizza from Basil Docs and beer from Great Divide Brewing.  Saturday afternoon the Juniors get their recognition from 1-4pm, also with support from Basil Docs. 

We will also have 2009 awards and 2010 State Championship shirts to pick up, so please stop by to recognize our most successful athletes!

Cross Promoters Meeting

It's not too early to think about cross!  The Cross Promoters Meeting will be held February 26, 2011 at the Golden Visitors Center, located at 1010 Washington Avenue in Golden.  Reminder:  Cross race date request forms and fees are due by February 17, 2011.

ACA Business

The ACA is looking for a new accountant, a website assistant, and new race officials.  Please send interested accountants to Chris, interested web assistants to our webmaster, and interested race officials to Yvonne.  Accountants should be well versed in non-profits, web assistants must understand PHP and possess a high attention to detail, and our race officials are an integral part of successful competitive cycling in Colorado. 

Two Important Items:

  • Please contact Yvonne with any updates to your mailing address.  Do this ASAP!
  • Transponder update:  more information on the transponder system, including transponder placement on your bicycle, will be released soon. 
Colorado Bicycle Summit 2011

Bicycle Colorado has announced the inaugural statewide Bicycle Summit to be held on February 7 & 8, and needs your participation so the voice of bicyclists (and the ACA) are heard by our state's elected officials.

Introduction to Skate Skiing at Eldora

ACA Member and Eldora Nordic Director, Peter Marshal, has again offered to host a discounted lesson for ACA members:

 

Come up to the Eldora Nordic Center on Feb. 6th for a two hour skate ski class, just for ACA members (and spouses). The cost of the clinic will be $45. This includes the trail pass and rentals for the day. Class will begin at 9:30. Arrive closer to 9 if you need rental equipment. Skate skiing will provide you with an amazing cardiovascular workout and excellent muscular cross training for cycling.

 

Peter has also coordinated a discount package of pass and rentals (no clinic) for just $29.
