Copper Mtn Banner 1
Greetings!

We're quickly approaching the first weekend off of scheduled ACA races on July 4th. We've got some hot topics in this newsletter as it will be the last one for a few weeks.

Upcoming Weekend Races Random Bike photo

This weekend brings the Dead Dog Classic with a Road Race, Criterium and TT. Registration is closed for this fine event. If you're racing don't forget that if you cross the centerline in the RR or TT, your stage race will most likely be over.  Also, always remember to keep the litter in your pockets and only drop bottles in feed zones!

The following weekend is the 4th of July and with no ACA races should be a good weekend away from the races.

July 11th brings us the new Cheyenne Canyon Time Trial in Colorado Springs. This sharp uphill TT looks to really put you to the test. You can find registration by clicking here. The following day is the truly classic Longmont Criterium. Fields are expected to fill for this race so get now by registering here.

Mid-Week Races

During this time of year there are also some fantastic mid-week races to keep your legs open and race ready for the weekends.

The CSP Training Series takes place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at the Colorado State Patrol course on Table Mountain in Golden. Scholarships from The Just Go Harder Foundation are available for the junior entry fee.

Also, on just about every Wednesday you can race the Boulder Time Trial Series. Register online, park in north boulder and ride to the start for a warm up. You'll need it for the challenging course from Lyons back to Boulder.

Race Surveys
Mike Horgan and HALO TT

If you raced the Mike Horgan Hill Climb or the HALO Time Trial please take a very short survey for that event by visiting the link below.
BAR/BAT

The BAR/BAT schedule has been updated with some recent changes. You can find the updated version on the website or by clicking here

BCR/BCT

The ACA Board of Directors is currently working on updating the BCR/BCT policy. The policy has not changed since its original version when it was removed from BAR/BAT. The discipline and events have changed a lot since that time and the goal is for the policy to reflect that. There is a rough draft version posted here. There is also a forum discussion topic you can reach by clicking here. If you promote, work at or compete in cross race, please take the time to review the policy and discuss it on the forum.

Reciprocity Agreement with USA Cycling

After almost 18 months of slow but productive progress, the ACA Board of Directors and USA Cycling are happy to announce that there is a written reciprocity agreement in place for both organizations. The ACA Board and USAC staff put a lot of time and energy into this project. Please click here to read the press release.

A few closing notes:

-We have some races coming up that do not have on-site registration AND have a tendency to fill. If you want to race make sure to get it done for the following races:

-Don't forget we still have 9 weekends of great racing AFTER the Fourth of July. The month of August looks to be one of the best in years, culminating in the Steamboat Springs Stage Race on Labor Day weekend.

.
 See you at the races,
