Greetings!
At long last we had ACA racing again in Colorado last weekend! Deer Trail and Haystack were both well attended and proved to be fun events as usual. You can find results here: ACA Results Page. |

| BAR/BAT Points Tabulation
Just a reminder that we will not be tabulating BAR/BAT points until the first phase of our new website is completed. We'll send out a notice when the points are up and running. As a regular user, you will notice little to no changes during this first phase as it is primarily focused on data management. The second phase of development involves much more for our site users and should be completed by the middle of the summer. |
Association Finances
You can find a copy of the current ACA Profit and Loss Report by click here. You can also find a current Balance Sheet here. We seem to be weathering the recession rather well. Please note that we have some expenses outside of our regular operation in the coming months, these include the Junior Road Camp, The Colorado Mini Classic and most importantly, the new website. Also, please remember that the majority of income is received in the first quarter while our expenses tend to be relatively steady throughout the year.

Steamworks Cup 2009
Win Your Weight In Beer! ColoBikeLaw.com and Steamworks Brewing Co. have teamed up to offer a unique award that will make you wish you weighed more than you do...at least by the end of the racing season. The award targets racers that can tackle and conquer three different disciplines this season; a hill climb, a time trial, and a circuit race. To qualify, you must compete and score the most points in your particular category across all three of the ColoBikeLaw.com races in the 2009 season. The qualifying races are Lookout Mountain Hill Climb (May 2nd), Upper Bear Creek Time Trial (June 21st), and The Federal Center Classic Circuit Race (July 25th). The winners will be determined based on total points earned for the series using the ACA BAR point scale. At the end of the Federal Center Race, the overall point's winners will be asked to step on a balance scale, beer on one side vs. racer on the other side, to determine how much beer they get to take home. In the event of any ties, the co-winners will split their winnings. So, if you weigh 200 pounds at the end of the race then you take home 200 pounds of Steamworks Brewing products. Participants must be 21 years of age to be eligible for prizes. Check out more details here. |
A few closing notes:
- Annual Licenses are not usually available at races so please plan ahead.
- We're looking for small filler photos for the news mail. Please e-mail Jon if you're interested.
- As the weather warms the number of cyclists on the road seems explode exponentially. Please be aware that you're not the only cyclist out there and that drivers may be a bit upset by those who do not know how to share the road. Remember to be a courteous ambassador for our sport and BE SAFE!
- Look for another News Mail in about two weeks!
