Welcome to our September Newsletter.  Firstly, thank you to everyone who visited us at the Sydney Beauty Expo. Your positive feedback during and after the Expo has been overwhelming. September's Newsletter discuss Scrubs, Rice and our Meadowfoam Oil.  We hope you find it interesting and informative.
 
Scrub Me Gently...
 
Rice is not only food, it's a part of a  culture and way of life. It has been used in many Asian countries since ancient times as a body and hair cleanser. In a Beauty Ritual it may be used as a base in Scrubs due to its gentle exfoliating properties. 
 
Rich in gamma-oryzanol, ground rice gently exfoliates, softens and rejuvenates even the most damaged and dry skin. Rice has natural age-defying properties that help improve skin tone and delay wrinkle formation, and is gentle enough for all skin types.
 
Rice-based Scrubs also help open clogged pores and emulsify the sebum that contributes to blackheads and acne.
 
For these reasons we have chosen rice over less effective, cheaper ingredients, including sugar and salt as they contain little nutritional quality and can be harsh on the skin.
 
We use many types of rice in our unique Scrubs, including Black Sticky Rice, Jasmine Rice, Organic White Rice, Glutinous Rice and Red Rice.  Each used for their unique characteristics and exfoliation.
 
But rice is only the beginning.  Each of our Natural Scrubs has it's own unique personality.  Mangir and Bali Traditional Scrubs follow traditional Jamu recipes with crushed barks, herbs and spices while a more contemporary approach is our Milk & Honey  Scrub containing pure Australian Honey.  For more information click here.

 
Salon TreatmentSalon Options...             Salons are now able to offer unique Hair and Foot Treatments without investing in costly wet area facilities. 

Tougher times require smarter thinking by business owners and the beauty industry is no exception.  We're all aware that smart decisions need to be made
to ensure survival.

A combination Australian Clays and Crystal ION 120™, a powdered precious stone emulating a strong negative IONIC charge, softens the hair and detoxifies the scalp.  A herbal combination including Nettle Root, Sunflower & Horsetail protect & strengthen the hair. Our chemical-free Herbal Nourishing Shampoo & Conditioner leave hair feeling soft and silky clean.
 
Foot Ritual Our range of rice & botanical based Foot Scrubs, Mineral Foot Masks and Herbal Foot Soaks contain combinations of refreshing Peppermint, antiseptic Tea Tree, Eucalyptus, Basil, Orange, Cypress & Grapefruit.  All are Natural, chemical-free and easily prepared with water, oil or lotion base.
 
Meadowfoam OilSpotlight : Meadowfoam Oil

This month our spotlight is Meadowfoam Oil.   Uncommon but growing in popularity, Meadowfoam  is gathered from the seeds of a small, herbaceous winter-spring annual. The name Meadowfoam is derived from the typical white blooming of plants which give the image of a white foam covering the soil.
 
Meadowfoam Oil contains 98% fatty acids and is resistant to oxidation due to naturally occurring tocopherols (Vitamin E).

It has intense moisturising and rejuvenating properties as well containing UV protection properties.  We use Meadowfoam in the following Mum-to-Be products:-
