PROTECT YOURSELF FROM THE FLU!

Here are a few simple tips that will help to protect you as we head into the cold and flu season.

  1. Wash your hands often- before you eat or prepare food, after using the restroom or changing a child, after working out, while working in groups and  in public places, or when caring for others who are ill. If water and soap are not available, use a liquid hand sanitizer.
  2. Sneeze into a Kleenex or handkerchief.  When this is not possible, sneeze into your elbow- this prevents germs from accessing your hands , or floating through the air. Follow by washing your hands and areas where you sneezed.
  3. Stay at home or keep children at home when you, or they do not feel well.  The most common way diseases is spread is through exposure to those who are already ill.
  4. Clean your work area regularly, including telephones, computer keys, and desk surfaces.
  5. Talk to your physician about immunizations.

You can find all of these tips, and more on the bulletin board as you enter the Sewickley Valley YMCA.
