CASN Council 2010 This year's council meeting brought together over 100 participants from Canadian Universities and Colleges. A thought provoking presentation from Faye Reines, at the Graduate Studies and NP Educators Forum, was followed by the opening of council with a motivating keynote address by Dr. Patricia Benner on the future direction of Nursing Education.
Thank you to all of the participants who's input made the events and meetings such a huge success!

Development and Implementation of the Essential Components of Bridging Programs for Internationally Educated Nurses CASN is pleased to announce that the first Stakeholder Forum for the project Development and Implementation of the Essential Components of Bridging Programs for Internationally Educated Nurses was held on November 18, 2010. Over 30 individuals attended the Forum and were presented the initial findings of an environmental scan of Canadian bridging programs. Participants also took part in an intense discussion about the exemplars of successful and unsuccessful bridging practices. |

Innovate. Prosper., unveiled yesterday by Clément Gignac, Minister of Economic Development, Innovation and Export Trade. The government will invest $1.16 billion in implementing the Strategy. "This major investment is proof of how the government feels about the role of research and innovation in the economic and social development of our society," said FRSQ President and CEO Yves Joanette.
