Rotary Definition

Rotary is an organization of business and professional persons united worldwide who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations and help build good will and peace in the world.

Our Mission

"Doing good in the World is more than a motto.  It is our goal, our mission, and our reminder.  It expresses in the clearest terms why we have a Foundation, and it challenges us to reach as far as we can to do the most good possible with everything we have.  Our Foundation exisits to support the good that we can do through Rotary.  It expands our reach, increases our strength, and makes our service more powerful and more effective.  Because of our Foundation we can, very simple, do more of our Rotary work."

2004-2005

Volume 59, No. 29 March 27, 2012
Weekly meetings are held on Tuesdays at Michaels at 415 Broadway.
INTRO

President, Maura Donnelly, opened the meeting leading the Pledge of Allegiance and followed in prayer by Don Johannes.

 ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • Fish race - results - 1st- Blake Barth; 2nd- Bob Dauderman; 3rd- Allison Gruender netted $2,858 to go towards our International project NICE which falls a little short of the $3,000 that the board approved. The amount that we netted was an increase from last year, so a special thanks to Rick for his many years of coordinating this project! Also thanks to his wife and children and Tom and Pat Wehrle for being there to help retrieve the fish during the event.
  • Quote for the week: "One day we will awaken to a world where every mother will be able to write her child's name and that child will be able to grow up to write his or her own name. The world will be free of polio; every human being in the world will be able to reach out and drink a clean, clear, glass of water without fear of disease or contamination; we will all breathe-in the fresh, clean air of a world of peace. This can all be accomplished through the programs of The Rotary Foundation. But we must all give something, any amount, to The Rotary Foundation, every year." - Past District Governor Don Gregory

  • MEMBERSHIP, Cliff Couch

Cliff updated all the new members on the upcoming fundraisers. We just completed the Fish Race and have the Golf Tournament and Car Raffle coming up next. We will also sell oranges again at Christmas time. Cliff also shared that if we come up with a new fundraiser, we can apply for a matching funds grant from Rotary International.
