Rotary Definition

Rotary is an organization of business and professional persons united worldwide who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations and help build good will and peace in the world.

Our Mission

"Doing good in the World is more than a motto.  It is our goal, our mission, and our reminder.  It expresses in the clearest terms why we have a Foundation, and it challenges us to reach as far as we can to do the most good possible with everything we have.  Our Foundation exisits to support the good that we can do through Rotary.  It expands our reach, increases our strength, and makes our service more powerful and more effective.  Because of our Foundation we can, very simple, do more of our Rotary work."

2004-2005

Peg Bellm presented information about the 175th Jubilee hosted by Highland Celebrates. The event will be held 9/29 and 9/30.

Highland Celebrates is an umbrella organization that was formed to collect and protect Highland history. The 175th Jubilee is the first fundraiser for the organization, which is a 501(c)(3) organization.

The festival will be at Lindendale Park and will celebrate the history and development of Highland. Activities currently planned include a parade, music, food, entertainment of both Swiss/German heritage and otherwise, children's activities including games, petting zoo and magic show, and potentially a Scheutzenfest.

Featured at the festival will be the Milestones Walk. This timeline of Highland's past and progress will showcase history, products, and services of Highland manufacturers, businesses and civic organizations. Organizations may participate at no cost, while businesses have a $50 participation fee.

Individuals, families and businesses can also support the event through donations. For more information, visit www.highlandcelebrates.com.
