| Rotary Definition | |
Rotary is an organization of business and professional persons united worldwide who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations and help build good will and peace in the world. |
| Our Mission | |
"Doing Godd in the World in more than a motto. It is our goal, our mission, and our reminder. It expresses in the clearest terms why we have a Foundation, and it challenges us to reach as far as we can to do the most good possible with everything we have. Our Foundation exisits to support the good that we can do through Rotary. It expands our reach, increases our strength, and makes our service more powerful and more effective. Because of our Foundation we can, very simple, do more of our Rotary work."

Prior to starting her own company in 1981, McLaughlin was Vice President of Marketing for the Dale Carnegie Organization in Colorado. She was certified to teach all of the Dale Carnegie Courses. For 11 years, Jean served as a Master Trainer with Inscape Publishing Company, an international publisher of employee development learning instruments and training materials.
Jean customizes results-oriented programs specializing in Teamwork, Conflict Resolution, and Customer Services, utilizing the DiSCŪ Personal Profile System. McLaughlin has personally customized and conducted programs for many leading
companies such at AT&T Broadband, AT&T, MCI, Qwest, Amoco Production Company, The Children's Hospital, Easter Seals, Inc., MDC Holdings, Inc., Indian Health Services, White Wave Foods Company, Colorado Springs Utilities, University
of Colorado, and for hundreds of other companies, both large and small. Jean also facilitated the Customer Service Initiative for the Chrysler Corporation.
Jean shared that at each employee has motivators and energy drainers. At the beginning of a new job the first day the motivation is high but the employee is ineffective. After time the employee gains knowledge to become effective but can become "demotivated." She shared that as an employer it is important to understand what motivates your employees so that when they become "demotivated" that you can motivate them again before they become unmotivated and ineffective which leads to termination. This is called "The Motivation Matrix." Jean stated presented questions to help identify energy drainers so that you or your employees do not become unmotivated. One of the most common energy drainers is conflict; conflict within oneself, with others, and with the demands of work. The way people cope with conflict; hostility, anger, fear, frustration, disappointment, and depression can drain 3x more energy every day.
She left with the encouragement that "a shift in perception can create a miracle."
For more information on how to motivate your employees and to handle conflict resolution contact Jean at jean@jeanmcclaughlin.com or 618-594-8990. Her website is www.jeanmclaughlin.com |
