PROGRAM: Pregnancy Care Center

Carrie Adolph, Executive Director
Carrie

The new Pregnancy Care Center DVD was shown that provided a client testimony, staff and volunteers sharing information about why the center exists, why clients should come to the Center, and how the Center partners with the community.  *If anyone missed this DVD and would like to view it - contact the Center.

Carrie also shared a few updates in services over the last year to better reach their target audience; they received 2 grants from the HACF to expand their EWYL cirriculum to provide modern updates, Spanish classes, and Men's Fraternity class.  They moved to a new location that is better fitting for thier client services and more welcoming to their clients.  In June they had a strategic planning meeting and are excited about the upcoming changes.  They reported that they are integrating technology into their client services (lap tops in counseling rooms, text message communications, 24 hours appointment setting access, and remote appointments through Skype), an avenue for STI testing within the next year, and an avenue for ultrasounds within the next two years.  They are forming planning committees to make this plan a reality and welcome involvement from Rotary members.

Carrie also announced that they are co-sponsoring the Silver Ring Thing on October 9th with three local churches.  SRT is a high energy live event using special effects, music, videos, drama to present an abstinence until marriage message to middle school and high school students.  There is also a parent workshop provided during the first 45 minutes.  Tickets are $5 ahead of time and $8 at the door.  Event takes place at HMS from 630-9pm.  Go online to silverringthing.com to watch a promo and buy tickets!
