PROGRAM: Father Val, Haiti - Have you forgotten?

Click on the link below to read a blog:
Father Val has a parish of 30,000 people including his church and 8 chaples.  Four are only accessible by walking and 2 by horseback.  His people have no annual income and their homes are built out of sticks and mud.  300k people were killed, many of them have been permenantly mamed by the Earthquake and also are very fearful.  Thousands have been missplaced and hundreds of bodies have still yet to be uncovered.  UN troops still remain but are not respected because initially to force order they came in shooting.  US troops were respected but have been moved to other locations.  The government is very corrupt and hords supplies.  Higland put together 40k meals in January that made it the people in May.

Father Val has been able to help plant a local hospital and drill a well.  A pick up truck serves as an ambulance and he uses a horse often for his vehicle.  People come daily to the well and it is easy to see scripture come to life as they meet such a basic need and prayerfully introduce them to the Living Water.

Many of the citizen are cut off from become literate because the countries official language is French and only 5% of the population speak French.  This is part of the government controlling the people.

Vudoo is widely practiced.  Many hire witch doctors and human sacrifices still take place.  They are not acceptant of the Christian doctrine.

The citizens of Haiti will do anything to get to the US for they feel that it is as good as getting to heaven for us.  98% of Haitians are sent back to Haiti and only 2% are allowed in depending on their occupation.

*Father Val truly witnesses more daily than what we could ever imagine.  The Haitians experience conditions we could not cope with and are under an repressions and false spirituallity.  Please remember these people and pray for them to have true PEACE in Mind and Heart.  Pray for God to bring them a new righteous government that will truly take care of the people.
