- Pregnancy Care Center will be hosting their 3rd Annual Walk for Life and 5k Life Run on Sat. Sept 18th at 8am on Highland's beautiful square and downtown. There is also an added element of competition this year with Team Captains competin for a fall St.Louis Stay-cation.
- September 7, 2010 Board meet at 11:15 at Michael's to meet with the District Govener prior to noon meeting.

The $647 in the pot was saved by the 6 of Diamonds this week.
Fines went to everyone who did not attend help out with a project this last weekend, or the weekend prior, or the last few months.

- Jennifer was happy that she had a chance to recruit for her team for the PCC Life Run and said if her team wins they will draw names for the Grand Prize.
- Buzz was pleased that he will be teaching two creative writing classes at SIUE on September 3rd.

- Mrs. Miller and Paul Ray Capelle were in attendance today. Kevin showed a short before and after photoshow of the work completed at the residence and again thanked everyone who helped make the project successfull. Mrs. Miller brought a thank you card and photos of Dylan enjoying his ramp and being able to get on to the bus by himself!

ARC is divided in two groups. The local Chapter and the Blood Services. The local Chapter is located in Alton and directed by Robin Summers. The Chapter provides services in disaster relieft, health & safety courses, and armed forces emergency services (only avenue allowed to communicate with the military to bring news from home to a soilder).
Blood Services Info:
- Provides 40% of blood supply nationwide
- Provides 90% of Metro area's blood
- Approx 1200 daily volunteers in MO/IL region
- Blood donation takes about 1 hour
- A unit of blood is one pint
- Each unit of blood is processed and separated into three components red blood cells, plasma, and platelets. Each component can be used by a different person.
- Cancer patients are the number one users of blood because chemo destroys platelets.
- Every 2 seconds in America someone needs blood.
- Onely 38% of population is eligible to give blood and 5% acutally do.
- It is safe to donated blood every 56 days
- Blood has an expiration date.
You can donated today if:
- Over 16 years old
- Weight more than 110
- Are not on medication for blood thinners or antibotics
- Have not traveled outside the US in the last year where you could have been exposed to malaria
- You have not received any unsafe tattos or piercinngs
