PROGRAM

·        Paul Harris Fellow Awardees: Wayne Steiner gave a moving presentation as he shared that Jim Plocher was like a Wise Man in an old story that led others to wonder what it was that he had in him that enabled him to sacrifice for others.  Wayne wanted to thank all the Rotarians who stepped up and finished Jim's giving circle in order or Jim and his commitment to live out the 4 way test.  Jim wanted to designate his contributions to Polio Plus.  The Harris Fellow was presented to his family in attendance.      There were 2 other Harris Fellows designated this year that are on vacation and will be presented in August.

Program  -  Rotary Wrap Up for 09-10 - Jennifer Whitten

·        Jennifer reported that at the beginning of each year the presidents  set goals for their club each year and she wanted to highlight the good things that were accomplished as well as go out with a little fun.

o       The 6 Items that were excited to her was the start of the Silver Creek Rotary Club, she called it a feather in our cap, attendance at the District Meeting, Maintain incoming exchange students, building a 2nd well with the Beckman fund, supporting international efforts with a $3000 donation to Elba's Orphans, and locally contributing $5000 to the Pregnancy Care Center to help with moving expenses.

o       For fun she wanted to test Rotarians on their knowledge of what Rotary does with a round of Rotary Jeopardy.  There were five categories (fundraisers, members, fellowship, donations, in memory) with three challengers, Don Johannes, Maura Donnelly, and Father Peters.   Maura used her expertise as treasurer to win with $3900 total.  It was a spirited game with plenty of laughs and a great way to end the year.

o       Terry ended the meeting with a gavel presentation to Jen to thank her for her service over the last year.
