* The Charter Party for the Silver Creek Rotary Club was held on March 19th, and our District Governor, Larry really did a nice job with the presentation. Approx. 40 people were in attendance. Thank you to Holli for organizing that for us.
*Please turn your club surveys into Terry Lammers as soon as possible.
*The Club Steak Fry will be on June 15th, but it will be held at noon to see if we can increase attendance.
*There will be a Rotary Cards vs. Cubs game on August 14th. There will be seats ranging from $50-$45-$40 tickets. We can sell tickets to anyone in the community. If there is an interest, we will need someone to be the "baseball manager" from our club. Purchases are due by 07/01/2010.
*Please keep Henry Metzger in your prayers as he is still in the hospital.
*We will be hosting an exchange student next year. She will be a girl from Germany. Please be thinking about host families.

Melinda Kershaw
Melinda Kershaw, from Day & Night Solar Co. brought a lot of interesting facts regarding what options are available, costs and provided a lot of facts that a lot of people are not aware of in regards to solar power energy. Solar energy systems tie into your current grid system. 93% of Americans support solar energy, 12% of Americans know how it works, and 75% of Americans don't know how to go about getting it or where from. There are a lot of tax incentives out there for installing solar energy systems at your residence or your place of business. There are 30% state & federal rebates. Commercial uses can use accelerated depreciation. There are energy credits that are tradable commodities. They can be mounted to roofs, covered parking lots, and pole mounts. You want the maximum power from the least amount of space! |
