Today's meeting was opened by our President, Jennifer Whitten, and Deacon Ron led us in prayer.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
 o       We have moved our Group Study Exchange team selection back two weeks to allow for more applicants. Please notify local Rotarians to ask them to contact business leaders, university and college instructors, and others who would benefit by participation in the Group Study Exchange. The GSE brochure is attached for additional information. Group Study Exchange Team Member -- Candidates proposed by local Rotary Clubs (they may not be members or have a relative who is a member of Rotary) must be between 25-40 years old and either work or live in our district.  The travel dates for our team's visit will be to leave Springfield, Illinois, for Nigeria on Monday, May 17, and leave from Lagos, Nigeria for home Monday, June 14, 2010. Need to let them know no later than March 3, 2010.

o       Valentine's Dinner Update - Thanks Holli, Wayne and Bill for organizing and writing questions. Couple were Lammers (Julie didn't know til they went on stage), Donnellys, Luitjohans and Whittens. It was a close call, but the tie breaking question of how many TVs are in your house, put the Whittens in the lead.
 
 
*Mark Korte is looking for a 'co-chair' for the golf tourney, if anyone is interested.
COMMUNITY SERVICE - David Daiber
We have now have 3346 hours  - remember we have a goal of 10,000.  If you've been holding back on reporting your service hours, now's the time to get them in!

Dick Aten:  was happy that this was Engineer's week.  He encouraged everyone to 'Hug and Engineer', so James did and almost knocked Dick down in the process.

Technology in Ag Today 
 
 
Terry Leitschuh introduced Brian Rinderer, a local farmer and district sales manager for Agrigold.  He talked aobut how farming has changed through technology.  The things that have changed the most are the cell phone, computers, auto steering, VRT/soil application and GPS.  It was very interesting and we learned in the farming industry....CORN IS KING.
